>nothing is immortalThere's lots of franchises that had marked declines in one way or the other, diminishing returns. Stuff like Medal of Honor or Halo being pushed out of the market by a competitor.Has there been any other prolific and successful franchise that just came to a screeching halt like COD going from the acclaimed and record-setting Black Ops 2 to COD Ghosts? Although coming out the same year as GTA5 didn't help.Nintendo with the Gamecube maybe? Space World 2001 and Celda, Mario Sunshine, etc. A far cry from Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time selling millions, garnering acclaim and changing the industry overnight. Basically became their metric for failure until the Wii U.Doom 3 maybe putting the franchise on ice for a decade until Doom 2016.
Halo 5 but it was just the next blow after Halo 4 so not the same screeching halt

>>719857562Good morning sir!
>>719856709Cod Ghosts was one of the last games I played back then from them, it was pretty solid. Never liked the futuristic setting at all, Black Ops 1 was way better than any of its sequels just on setting alone.
>>719856709Activision aggressively pushed out all the good devs from Infinity Ward during MW3's development, then had their only other good dev (Treyarch) make a BR game to hop on the trend, then Warzone came out and it was all over, everything needed to be tied to Warzone and even Treyarch couldn't make anything goo out of it
>>719856709gods chosen people are immortal tho and will keep feeding the masses goyslop like cod for decades
>>719857893I feel like you skipped like 5 years there.

>>719856709COD Ghosts was just terrible in every way imaginable, GTA 5 coming out the same year had barely anything to do with it.>worst plot>worst enemy faction (le evil latinx commonwealth? are you shitting me kek?) >shoehorned dog mechanic (hecking woofer chungus wholesome!)>soulless guns and loadouts>every NPC is 1 dimensional and unlikeable (don't remember any single one of their names or lines) >ambiguous ending leads you to believe there will be a sequel but it doesn't>multi-player maps feel hauntingly open, destitute and unplayable. slow playing and no interesting choke points>extinction is just a poor attempt at capturing treyarch's zombies and fails miserably in doing soThis game sucks hard and so do most COD games in retrospect, but this is the one that made me realize it
>>719857927The games made by Sledgehammer/post-MW3 IW are really not worth talking about
>>719858243>multi-player maps feel hauntingly open, destitute and unplayable. slow playing and no interesting choke pointsThat's just Infinity Ward map design.
