I like this one better than [the current thing]
>>
you're not special for hating on Silksong
grow the fuck up
>>
>>719859407
For real. To think that half of the board is playing some mediocre flash game
>>
>>719859457
I don't hate it doe
>>
>>719859531
it's ok I guess
you can't really hate people from enjoying cheap tacos
>>
>>719859531
It's cheap and runs on a potato, of course its popular.
>>
>>719859407
It's ludo as FUARK. Never played it, but the movement system is so satisfying to see. So tactile. So deliberate. So lifelike. If the gameplay is even passable at all then it's probably up there among the best indies.
>>
I liked rainworld and thought it was kino but cmon. Its janky and the karma gates can basically lock you out of an area forever because of insta kill random spawns.
>>
Ruined by mod DLC
>>
>>719859771
watch the interview
if I remember it correctly, they just list a set of movement that the npc can peform & let them ai goes wild
but yeah, I don't know where the fuck am I going next most of the time
>>
>>719859407
Rain World is absolutely more bold and innovative than slopsong.
>>
>>719859407
I like ori more than either.
>>
For me, it's Pseudoregalia

it's a shame the dev nerfed the game so much to appeal to casuals
>>
>>719859407
Silksong is like Lisa The Joyful to Lisa the Painful
you play as a side character fighting and fucking up the world and is a more advanced combat focus than the original game
Rain world is like gods will be watching, a game by all conventions is poorly designed and unfair, but in a deliberate way that makes it captivating, engaging and fun. the kind of game only the autistic dev and like 0.001% of the gamers would enjoy and yet its so purified down that for them its one of the best games you can play.

why are you pitting them against each other? what sort of artificial drama faggotry is this?
>>
>>719859457
You're gay for liking it. Straighten the fuck up.
>>
>>719860769
wait, what?
havent played since the original launch, was planning to go back now theres a bunch of shit added
>>
>>719859771
>Never played it
lol
>>
>>719859407
Can't wait for the next pretentious indie trash to come out and become the next subject of faggots screeching.
Nowadays it's like the more undeserving and shit an indie game is, the more it gets attention and praises.
>>
>>719861652
maybe youre just out of touch and deliberately trying to be a contrarian, so the more a good game is liked, the more you arbitrarily dislike it
>NO I MUST BE SPECIAL, IM SO SMART EVERONE ELSE IS DUMB FOR LIKING THIS
yeah, its you, retard.
>>
>>719861293
it's not that nerfed, there's just a lot of different options some of which make the game easier. But there's also much needed things like better death pit indicators and faster shelter opening
>>
watcher update when?
>>
>>719862450
stuff like food respawning on deaths and revealing the map saving on death are absolutely nerfs to the difficulty
>>
>>719863273
fair, those aren't usually the changes people complain about
I think food absolutely should respawn after a failed cycle, but I don't mind the map either way
>>
>>719859407
The camera transition in one of the areas ended up getting me killed and I thought about it flushing it immediately. Currently playing it and I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's all right so far. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone solely because of the movement system feeling terrible.
>>
>>719860916
both are 2d platformer
>>
>>719862450
>better death pit indicators and faster shelter opening
good, both of these were kind of dumb, plenty of deaths testing pits or whatever, and less waiting for a door is always good since it didnt really add anything, except maybe if youre being hunted at the time.
>>719863273
>food respawning on deaths and revealing the map saving on death
these two im not sure about, since ive not played since the change. I definately appreciate food NOT respawning on death as it kind of forced you to move out and keep exploring so having it respawn could get the player to just be stationary grinding up karma and missing out on that pressure to hunt for food
BUUUUT also sometimes death is unfair and it sucks massive balls to go through that twice in a row and have to backtrack because you cant afford to stick around, so now youre just wasting time grinding karma back up in a prior area to proceed - not really an issue in most times but I can see why they did it.

the map thing, similarly, im in two minds. I dont think it matters that much for me as I had good memory and spacial awareness so I didnt really need the map anyway but this kind of allows for 'diving' into an area and doing a suicide scout run. not a fan of that

I'll give it a shot. I loved rainworld, like a top 3 experience for me. But thats why I hesitated to replay it, cant get that initial experience again
>>
>>719865027
I heard they added an air meter for swimming too. Which on one hand feels kind of unfitting compared to the rest of the game but on the other hand FUCK swimming
>>
>>719865143
are these optional?
an air meter feels immersion breaking assuming its UI based
I liked fearing the water, especially the eastern sea when I found there was actually doors two screens down, panicking if I'd ever reach them in time
Felt good to "just check donw there" and see there was a path down there, of course when you finally see IT, shitting your way right back up

seems like theyre scraping off the things that made it 'unfair' but... I dunno, lifes unfair, seemed intentional to me.
also friend had kino of doing the opposite, popping up from the bottom, realising theyre underwater, swimming up... realising theyre STILL underwater, panicking and committing to the swim up, but hesitating enough to drown before the surface.
shit is memorable.
>>
>>719865275
the food respawning and map revealing were base game changes and were forced
the other changes were added later with dlc as a toggle. Thinking about it I'm not sure if they went back and made the first two a toggle as well. Either way I don't like the dlc and it's pretty ill fitting overall. But I guess that's what you g et when a mod gets made into official dlc.
>>
>>719865389
I actually have no idea what the DLC even is, I know it adds new sluggers, thats all, ive tried to be reletively blind because the original game was such a good experience first time blind

but I do keep hearing about the DLC(s) being either bad or at least poorly implemented

I should just fucking play it, I dont know what im waiting for, maybe I just dont want to sour the memories because I keep backlogging it

It’s great. But doing the Hunter run took everything out of me. Also i don’t really enjoy replaying games.
