reminder in japan voice acting is a serious industry and they have full time voice acting schools with multiple classes for different aspects of voice acting taught by senior voice actors and these are the people who voice act in anime

The anime-fication of the industry killed VA. It's usually the same 5 voices in everything now.People clowned on FFX for the iconic HAHAHA scene but the voice acting in this was phenomenal, all of the voices suit the characters perfectly and most of those voices are completely alien to anything you would hear today. That PS1 and PS2 era presented uncharted territory for artists to really be unique and produce special content.
