What was wrong with it? I didn't like the portal mechanic that much once I had too many regions to teleport to.I also didn't really finish the expansion since I just played the base game and Downpour for the first time and was tired.
I still don't know how to use the guide bug, it's fucking retarded, don't tell me to go west for twenty screens and then suddenly decide it's time to go east for another ten screens after thatthe lack of guidance honestly ruined the game, I don't want to read a fucking wiki to know where I'm supposed to go in a video game

I like them a lot.The ones in the dlc are absolutely abysmal in quality because they butchered porting them.Also all of the new stuff is unfinished because they fucked it out the door in 3 months.Also the stuff that WAS finished is ALSO unfinished because the developers were working on porting a 2.0 version for Downpour which is still NOT DONE.So the entire dlc is ported mod content that is ALL unfinished and what IS finished is fucked.Any saving grace from the watcher DLC is entirely to do with: A: the people who were made to rush it out the door are surprisingly competent and were able to make it at least playable.B: The base mechanics are still Rain World so you're cruising off the stuff that's already good.I had some fun with the DLC, but I'm actually familiar with the work of the modders that worked on all this shit- I can tell you what was pushed out the door was absolutely fucked even by their lowest standards.Also Joar is totally busy with his own game so he wasn't even here to reign everything in despite claims some people made otherwise.Like go back and play the original Aether Ridge and Coral Caves mods, It's fucking night and day.Also the Invisibility is the gayest part of the whole thing. They could have made it based on food or movement or standing still or lighting and instead they made it a fucking press the C button to turn off enemy AI. Abysmal choice above all else.

>>719873115My opinion even before the dlc released was that the movement should be at most just the Cloak and Dagger from TF2.A few seconds if you rush at full speed, perma cloak if you hide in a corner.And that was before I found out Watcher would have 0 downsides compared to Survivor.Like It's not hyperbole to say this DLC had like 3 months of work for a DLC that needed 2-3 years of work but whoever had the job of balancing the watcher itself dropped the ball super hard. I can't like for example point a finger at Kaeporo for the Watcher using their unfinished work as padding for the dlc. But come on, the invisibility literally has a 1:1 use/recharge ratio you can just sit in a corner and let it recharge and you won't lose any time from walking past stuff. I genuinely can't fathom the choice of functionally unlimited invisibility as a base mechanic.
