for pure performance, stick with njudea/gaymd, the Arc B580 is a budget card that I bought out of curiosity

Sorry, that wasn't my whole point.

What games are even CPU bound these days? It feels like if you need to upgrade your CPU you're probably benefiting more from the motherboard upgrade including more up-to-date component options (like newer PCIe or RAM standards).

the newest LGA 1851 processors are dogshit for gaming
13th and 14th gen i7s and i9s had problems with their early batches

will the next gen be any good or is intel literally dead

The i9s under certain configurations were burning up, they later capped voltage and did some other stuff though microcode updates.
14700k would be a good upgrade if you can find a good deal.
>>
>>719884097
this. ive had a 14700k since launch with zero issues. of course i updated the bios/microcode when it released but even before that its been smooth sailing. if i ever want to upgrade ill probably be forced to go amd as intel continues to kill itself
>>
>>719884036
i'd bet that intel is going to focus more on their enterprise CPUs for data centers rather than individual customers going forward
