Theres a fuckload of variables that will absolutely fuck you over once you get good enough at the game and reach the high ranks. Like a ball will just roll off into the water unless you underhit the ball absolutely perfectly. Also theres no reason not to use the best characters in the game because you absolutely need the extra power in the late courses.

This game is as fun as the old games when you're not too poor to afford $40 and when there isn't a redditor screaming in your ear about mismatched unit systems. The only thing I don't like is a lot of the voice acting is irritating as fuck, so I just turned off the voices until I unlock a character/caddy with better voice lines. But it's a good and fun game. I haven't tried online yet but going through all the challenges has been fun enough so far.

It doesn't look like the ball is making a parabola in the air, it kind of seems to descend steadily in a straight line.
