Good games that haven't aged well
>>
Games don't get worse; your taste just gets shittier.
>>
>>719915276
KH1 is clunky though
>>
>>719915405
It isn't, you're just bad at vidya.

It is, you've clearly never played the game beyond normal mode.
>>

>Kingdom Hearts
>good
You people have no standards.
>>
>>719915117
Is this opposite day?
>>
>>719915405
If it's clunky now, it was clunky when it first came out. People didn't suddenly notice clunk that they thought didn't exist back then. If KH1 came out today, it'd be praised for having "methodical combat" like it's a fucking Dark Souls game.

Games don't age.
>>
>>719915117
kingdom hearts 1 legitimately looks better than KH3
>>
So I played this game called Survival Kids for the Game Boy Color.

(I didn't survive)
>>
>>719915117
i hate the fucking clownshoes on everyone
>>
>>719915117
I actually appreciate KH1 more as an adult after replaying it this year. As a kid, I only liked KH2 and wasn’t really a fan of the first one.
>>
>>719915430
Try some platforming in the game and say that again.
>>
>>719915117
>deep jungle
jumping around is too ass in this game to make a level all about it, and i don't buy that it's because it's an early ps2 game, Jak and Daxter had that figured out the year prior.
>>
>>719915117
For this one, I think it's more that I played it when I was five years old and beat it when I was seven, and I'm thirty years old now. I was also never really all that interested in Disney.
>>
>>719918352
Yup, that was the exact level I thought about when I read >>719915430.

Here's the thing: it's clunky, but it's designed to be clunky, encounters facilitate this, the whole thing is pretty much a game focused around what it is because that's good design. When you get good at KH1, you're wiping out small crowds of Heartless in seconds because you're a well-oiled machine of key-shaped destruction, and the stiff jump, awkward camera and inconsistent lock-on won't do a damn thing to hold you back compared to even some modern games with these same problems that never seem to be designed with the problems in mind. It's like complaining that Ocarina of Time sucks and didn't age well because of recentering the camera all the time, when that's not actually a problem in OoT itself thanks to how the game was made with this consideration.

KH1 really is just the final wellspring of good Mana games despite not sharing any developers, anyway. Unless co-op was the only reason you ever liked the Mana series.

You know, I never really thought about that, but you're totally right.
>>
>>719915117
I replayed this earlier in the year and I enjoyed it even more than my first time back when it came out.
>>
>>719918352
Just imagine if they went all out with the platforming and flowmotion in 4. Imagine the Avatard level.
>>719918592
Please shut the fuck up. You're not a Disney fan, you're not a kingdom hearts fan. You're just another worthless little fucker who lives to bitch.

I garuntee this motherfucker only likes 1 and 2. You can tell by his copypasted bullshit.
>>
>>719915117
It aged well you're just retarded. Probably a KH2 fart huffer too...
>>
>>719919016
Why does KH2 filter midwits so hard?

I enjoy KH1 a lot because of its way more heavier feel compared to the later entries.

That post isn't bitching, though. What's your problem?
>>
>>719918952
It's fun, but the sky soldiers, magicians, and everything in Atlantica on Proud Mode makes me want to kill myself
>>
>>719919138
gravity was fine until Birth by Sleep turned everyone into featherweights for some reason.
>>
>>719915405
that "clunkiness" is what made it good. the combat was weightier and required commitment. every game after 1 plays like shit compared to 1 because they got rid of that "clunkiness" and went all in on the wannabe DMCshit.
>>
>>719919136
I like KH2 too. I've just realized all it had going for it was the combat. It's a linear hallway combat simulator. There's barely any charm unlike the first one unless you enjoy the autistic retarded story that Chain of Memories started.
>>
>>719918352
>a level all about it
there's like, 1 fucking screen where you have to do any platforming, the rest is automated.
>>
>>719919280
I saw a video that finally verbalized my problems because someone's trying to fix it on KH3, once you start attacks and doing actions in the Osaka games your air time basically resets until after the action is done so you can stay airborne indefinitely, allowing you to abuse whatever commands or actions you can until enemies can counter-act. Tokyo games, you have to constantly and aggressively keep your air game up because you'd have a soft momentum that only stops on certain actions and your combos would otherwise eventually bring you back to the ground, forcing you to actually plan out your combos and attack since not everything transferred to the air well and some enemies were better attacked on the ground.
>>
Any regular enemy that can become invulnerable or can't be hit at all sucks. KH1 has a lot of these types of enemies
>>
>>719915405
how the fuck is clunky? hoyle shit, you people are stupid, every fucking game is different, something is clunky when at first it wasnt, like an old ass windows installation, that game can't be clunky, since it haven't changed, you look at it like it was clunky, it never was, you idiot.
>>
>>719919831
this guy complains that fat bodies are invulnerable from the front.
>>
>>719919636
I hated that shit! I only played the numbered entries, so I was blindsided by it in 3.
>>
>>719919961
I don't mean the fat bodies, you can easily block them. I mean the invisibles, magicians, and dark balls to name a few.
>>
Oh nooo baby needs his laser light shows and i-frames goo goo ga ga
>>
>>719919831
those fat fucks are the worst, it feels like if you don't hit the exact dead center pixel of their back, you fucked up, which is great when they are in groups and your accidentally catches another one.
>>
>>719920134
block 'em
also magic pierces the defense, i think
>>
>>719920081
I agree with you, I heard the other day in a thread that aero lets you hit the magicians while they're shooting thunders
Haven't tested it but it would be cool if true
>>
>>719918972
>I garuntee this motherfucker only likes 1 and 2.
Those were the only good ones though?
CoM is a love it or hate it gimmick that is made worse on PS2
BBS is trash all around.
358/2 is trash outside the story (which the collection butchers)
Coded is a good foundation ruined by the plethora of alternate gameplay gimmicks.
DDD is trash and single handedly ruined the story.
KH3 is the Skyrim of KH: only good with mods, and even those can't save everything.
MoM is fun, but it's not much of a KH game and more of a 'celebrating KH' game.
lol UX
