The End was just old as fuck and about to die anyway so he didn't care. And the Fury was in a perpetual state of pure rage causing him to not be able to reintegrate into society after the War. Basically, they were too fucked up from war to lead civilian lives, or in The End's case, he didn't give a fuck since he was going to die regardless of the outcome of Operation Snake Eater.
