I like doing the Fairfax Residence level in SWAT 4 with all my guys staying outside and me just going in with a pistol and a flashlight like it's the climax of a detective thriller movie. Great game.

It's trying to do singleplayer Ready or Not i suppose. But i will not buy it until i know that it's improved somehow. Because however it launched the AI is very rough for squad mates. And the way the enemies react needs serious work too. If they can actually iron this out it might turn out good. Or y'know you could just play Ready or Not. Or better yet Swat 4.

start with swat 4. make sure you have the DLC and use your microphone for voice commands. So you can just aim your crosshair at a door and say "red, bang and clear" and then aim down a hallway behind you and say "blue, cover" and in 2 seconds, half of your team is covering and half is moving up. Just to give you an idea.
You can aim at suspects and say stuff like "cuff him". It works so well it revolutionizes the game.

start there. it's one of the best single player tactical fps experiences you can have IMO

It got censored, more buggy, and the graphics and gore were downgraded. As far as I know, the core gameplay is still the same. People saying it's destroyed is perhaps a bit hyperbolic but arguably the reaction should have been much worse given they just made a game people already owned noticeably worse purely so they could chase a new audience while being too lazy/incompetent to develop updates on two slightly different builds.

ARMA AI isn't made for the Rainbow Six or SWAT levels of turning around and snap firing someone they see; without proper directives to make them go about as orders in an area, they're borderline turrets if placed indoors and little else. If anything the breach team stuff is cheating the AI by giving them directives versus the enemy team. ARMA is made for open space combat in towns, forests, mountains, etc., you literally need mods to even get the AI to work worth a damn indoors, hence the brief moment of a breaching team literally clipping through a wall.
Sometimes trying to mangle a game into playing like something it isn't just kinda makes a mess. I'm learning that the hard way by trying to make Garry's Mod play like SOCOM.

Ready or Not annoys me on a deep level. In SWAT 4, the enemies had varying levels of motivation that you might expect. The eco-terrorist in paramilitary gear is much less likely to surrender than the convenience store robber that go in over his head. This is communicated very clearly in gameplay, voice lines, appearance, and just overall common sense.

In Ready or Not, nothing matters. Everyone is a cracked out meth demon that will never surrender unless you physically incapacitate them. Gas station robber? You better believe he's firing and advancing with this tec-9 into 5 SWAT officers with near perfect accuracy and never surrendering. The devs should've just made a Rainbow Six game instead if they wanted AI like this.

Wildlands with no AI teammates is great. Really gives you a sense of paranoia being the only white man in a shithole full of deranged savages. My only problem with Wildlands is that enemies die in one hit with stealth. They kinda fixed that in Breakpoint but then again Breakpoint kinda sucked. Wildlands also had awful writing but that’s kinda expected from an Ubisoft game. The gameplay itself is fucking peak
