Nah, dude, Pauline was Mario's original girlfriend back in Donkey Kong (1981). DK was just the antagonist snatching her up. She ain’t related to him in any way. Nintendo just brought her back as the mayor of New Donk City in Odyssey and gave her a huge glow-up. The DK family tree is its own mess tho-Cranky Kong is supposedly the original Donkey Kong, and the current DK is his grandson or something. Nintendo lore is held together by banana peels and vibes.
