I think I went with Gary sometimes and with blue in others. My last playthrough over 2 decades ago with a blasting and vaporean, I can't remember. I have never caught all the Gen 1 Pokémon since the only person that played was a douchbag that held my vaporeon hostage for a caterpie. A pox on his house.

I named rivals after my friends when I was a kid but now just name them mildly rude names like "Dingus". Except GSC since someone told me they originally thought Silver was a girl so now I always call the GSC rival a girl's name and headcanon that she's a reverse trap.
