He chooses to be a tame monster a necessary monster, never a good man. He still does what needs to be done, he has just gotten a lot better at recognizing what doesn't need to be done. He rejects his past self only for being Athena's pawn.Then Ragnarok came around with what feels like a completely different writing team and now he's suddenly marred with self-hatred and a need to change.
