I find sad that no 3D fighting game tried to push a little deeper the way you could interact with your surrounding. Bushido Blade and the first Power Stone had something, but it's too rough on the edges. FGC autists hating on Tekken 4 was a letdown too.

Competitive pandering happened.
Games can't be "fair" if you have to contend with the randomness of falling rubble or the in the moment movement of weight.
Stage elements have to be non-intrusive to mechanics and the player fighting another player or npcs.
So you don't get dynamic holes forming in a wall that never had a hole in it before to take the enemy by surprise, and that shifting raft on the sea actually just tilts on a regular timed, consistent animation.

Fighting games should go beyond out of bounds and also include environmental hazards, traps, teleporters, powerups ect.
