There has been more thought and discussion about the implications of E33's world than the actual people living in it had, which means, much like the dropped characters, the writer(s) didn't bother to think that deeply about what exactly they made, to instead focus on a family drama where the main villain is the only actual likeable member of the family. Still better than Metaphor.

Most jrpg's have quite the infantile dialogue, it can be kinda cute in its own way but it's not exactly engaging. E33 just took it to a new level, the way the story is told is amazing, it's well directed and well acted, well written and then great music on top of it.
