before Mario Kart World was shown or announced I always thought the next MK game would have a story mode with a huge world map like the 2D and 3D games, and that it'd have a full story mode with bosses and such. It's just such a shame that they created all those models and animations for the different overworld enemies across the map, but you can't interact meaningfully with any of them, they're just window dressing. I think it's pretty likely that this game will get DLC. It's a game they want to be evergreen for the entirety of the Switch 2's life cycle, and is also an incentive to pay for the online subscription.I think the bigger question is: will it be paid DLC? The game is already retailing at an above-average price. Making the DLC free would get more people on board with that. But of course people will pay up anyway, so I don't even know why I'm questioning it.
