No, some of the levels were pretty fun. It was a chill platformer, but obviously the main gimmick was the level editor which people loved. That was a very long time ago and every thread wasn't buried in 50 layers of irony
honestly we need a little big planet in this day of age
>>720048065It was pure soulThe only game to get the "millenial quirky" aesthetic right without being annoyingI don't even know if that makes sense since I was 12, but it at least gave me tons of fun memories
mario + second life
>>720048065ironically the only thing hipsters did right besides psychonauts instagram & tumblr.
We NEED more games with level editors. Pretty much the only popular game with one that's been released within the past 5 years is Meet Your Maker, but that game sucked ass.
i have no idea what late game looked like on this because i rented the game and didn't play it much, but it seemed fun. it had a playful vibe but it seemed like a regular platformer. i forgot what the core gimmick was with this game other than being a puppet in a tiny world that that to get places.
>>720048065No, it was pure ludokino. There were levels based off There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men. People sharing costumes for popular characters before the official packs. I loved it. Definitely one of my absolute favourites. Nothing has come close to that level of interconnectedness.
Sleepyhead
>>720049326Okay, but can we not do the "you have to play the pre-built levels to unlock everything" routine? If you want players to make your game's content, give them all the tools from the start.

I only played 1 and 2, did it get better in 3?
>>7200501833 was the worst one.>buggy mess at launch>hubworlds make the pace really slow>new player characters that could've been powerups instead
>>720048065>step on his patch>get brought downShit game design
>>720050540Thats a pity, 2 was incredible. One of the best multiplayer experiences I had since peak Warcraft 3.
>>720050540Also the increase on floor layers killed the creativity limits everyone was use to. Everyone had designs and ideas for 4 layers, making it 17 for LBP3 did nothing but allow them to say a bigger number and have the trailer include the zipping where they zoom through a bunch of layers and show off the perspective.Turning power ups into "characters" and increasing the layers kills what LBP was.
it was pure soul that deserves a port for more people to play. personally it's one of the reasons i still have my ps3 hooked up. excellent balance between challenge and enjoyment. shame they ruined it with 2 and 3. they made those games glorified show and tell for the map creator. focusing sorely on a game maker was a bad idea.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/oxrdddE1nHY
>>720048839we could of had one with dreams but sony refused to market it
>>720048839There's a LBP clone being made on Steam called RestitchedHas no release date yet though
>>720050937Who would win, LittlolttiL PlaolP or GIBeeBIG tennet?
>>720048065Never liked this game. Felt floaty as fuck and extremely forced.
>>720048065How the hell did they make such amazing custom content in this game? You were allowed to import photos I guess?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gOx2U0tW-Q
>>720048316DE LOS MENORES HASTA LOS PEORES
>>720055735>You were allowed to import photos I guess? No, if you wanted custom images in the game you had to use the PS Eye accessory which was a camera.
>>720055735I remember copying this level to my moon as a kid and laughing at the retarded level author for using a bunch of basic movers for sprite logic instead of advanced moversupon reflection it seems as though I was the retard in this story
>>720055434>Felt floaty as fuckthis and the cringe aesthetic are the only problems, but the floaty feel is a major problem for a platformer.Otherwise it was great. Mario Maker before that existed.
>>720054373Dreams was doing too much, at that point learn a real game dev program that isn’t tied to a single console and game

i wish i played this game more than the few hours i put into it in like 2011

>>720048065>Was it hipster garbage?/v/ monkeys deserve to be locked in a room for their entire life and just be forced to watch faggots like smash JT and asmongold every second of every day nonstop, with no option to ever do anything else. Miserable manlet khhv faggots.
>>720048065Played it at launch. Had a couple fun times but overall man I should have gotten a 360.
South Americans, Indians, and europoors from faggoty countries like Poland and Ukraine need to be cut off from the global internet. You fags are just cancer.
>>720048065Honestly as much as I liked the 360, I really wish I could've had a PS3 back then too. LBP is one of those games that I really regret missing out on.
>>720048839It's called Roblox
>>720048065cwc core
>>720057164iirc that was a level they made in the closed beta, obviously stuff that came out later in the game's life after everyone had gotten familiar with its tools would be more complex - this was just a proof of concept.
>>720050183Nah m8 it's pretty fucking terrible and they also added hubworlds as a sick practical joke to pad the game time
>>720061421it was made and uploaded by a player account

>>720048839we have it, it's fall guys
>>720050183Story mode was meh but after all the patches I think it was a fine successor, at least in terms of the level creator. Lots of nice additions. But then again it all could've just been added in an update for LBP2.
>>720058734>cringe aesthetic I got over that even if I was never a huge fan of it the levels were cool but the floaty feeling made me drop it
>>720048065>when my friends and I would dress up our sack boys>restarting levels because everyone died from standing on top of each other>those times we braved online with college dorm's shitty internet>the countless shark survival levels>no anger, no pissing contests, just laughs all aroundThere're certain moments in life you can't replicate again, no matter how bad you'd like to. Playing LittleBigPlanet with my friends in college and even the fact the game allowed the four of you to go online with a single system. It's a type of couch multiplayer we're never seeing again. What does hipster even mean in this context? I just realized nobody gets called hipsters anymore
>>720054373dreams was literally just an engine tailored for a controller controls. it had zero personality

>>720048065don't understand the point of purposefully making your main character ugly, i guess it was innovate and led to what we have today
>>720068149Sack boy is not ugly
>>720048065This would be a /v/-core game if it was available on modern platforms. RIP PS3
>>7200480651 was fun to romp around at the time, but in hindsight its age could be felt. 2 was one of the best games ever made.
>>720048065The lbp community was magical. It was pure. The level editor had a perfect mix of complexity and accessibility that led to basically everybody creating interesting or funny one offs instead of just the die hard autists creating entire campaigns (which also existed and were good too)
the perfume free dlc still baffles my mind with why the fuck did it even existwere they trying to pave way for animated emotes and decided to bin it after this or what? Why the fuck make it a costume? Why fucking perfume of all things?
>>720068974Pretty sure it's supposed to be a joke. After all, it's free and it released on April 1st.
>>720069343way too elaborate of a jokei was genuinely expecting more animation items after it
I miss it, bros
>>720069667It still doesn't make sense that they never made another LittleBigPlanet game for PS4/5. Instead they made a 3D spinoff that no one gave a fuck a fuck about.
>>720048065>find out that motherfucking WATER is getting added as a DLC, holy shit>IT'S HERE>I OPEN THE LEVEL EDITOR:>water is just consistent across a specific height, across the entire levelBiggest disappointment of my life.It was still really fucking cool however.Loved the game beyond measure, didn't like the sequels as much for some reason, I think I liked the relative simplicity of the first game. LBP1 had a level editor, 2 and beyond started getting into making entire games and stuff, but maybe it was just me that was simple.

>>720048065>Bomb Survival 2 [Heart 4 Heart]>tfw finally got my first Platinum with this game>PSN was a piece of shit in 2008 so it randomly reset 80% of my trophiesI think I was more sad than angry, that took me so long.
>>720048065It was one of the most mainstream ps3 games. They don't make em like they used to.
>>720048065god damn this game was so fun to troll in
>>720071821>lbp2>join someone's moon>spawn in object that crashes their ps3
I can't take it anymore bros.
>>720069667>everybody made their sackboy look like punk rock or scene kids>made all mine looked like twisted monster girls with fangs, glowing eyes, claws, and happy expression on their faceNo other game has or will have a character creator this fun. Had some screenshots I took long ago, but unfortnately lost them over the years.>>720069798Because Media Molecule were basically done by the 2nd game which was even more of a glorified level editor than the first. Which isn't a bad thing, but if MM isn't helming an LBP then chances of it being remotely good are nill.
>>720048065>browsing the most niche, obscure, poorly-made and soulful community levels>just dropping into some random motherfucker’s game and covering him in stickers and decorations>spending hours in the level editor with friends screwing around with mechs and other shit we’d get from giveaway levels>being amazed when someone pulled out the lava material or something else you couldn’t get legitimately>ywn relive those days

>>720072709DaVinci. But I liked this sad note's (Clive?) world the most. Same with Victoria. 2 really felt larger than life even if my main driving force was to hear Sleepyhead. Vita was nice too. Please end my suffering.
I remember what drew me into the game: a custom level where you explore a secret underwater lair (it wasn't underwater you had a jetpack on the whole time to give the immersion though) there was a glowing sword that acted as a key throughout the dungeon, in the end you face a giant dragon with several weak points around its body. That immediately made me get the first game, and when the second game came out I was all for the new stuff and I found a lot of cool levels, but it started going downhill when everyone was copying that annoying shark gimmick.
were any of the ps3 user levels backed up or are they all lost to sony/media molecules retardation?

>>720071821 kek I used to hop into random matchmaking, grab people with the popit, and rocket them into the corner while spamming “nice level bro” in stickers all over their pod. Bonus points if they were trying to platform and I slapped a giant physics object on their head mid-jump. Good times…
>>720048065The most mismanaged franchise and mascot. Sackboy was the one PlayStation IP from the PS3 era onward that had any semblance of soul and charm to it. It's an absolute shame they fumbled LBP and it never got to see its potential realized
movement physics were hot garbage, barely playable. shit games
