What was the first time you cried during a video game?
Never
The only pieces of media that have ever made me cry were Danganronpa V3, Akame ga Kill and a very depressing Rachmaninoff symphony.
>>720085601probably ff7
>>720085601
>>720086474This happened to me recently. First time after 20+ years of solitaire. No possible moves from the start.
>>720085601The rush of emotion at the beginning of top of moutain in Journey almost got me. That was a strong surge
>>720085601When I used the masterball on a pidgey and my brother called me a retard.
Pussy faggot sissy thread(you) have low t go to a doctor
>>720085601I can't remember actually. The earliest I can remember is MGS3 but I think there must've been one earlier than that. Maybe FFX
Never have, but came close during FFXVI, Layton 3 and Ghost Trick.>>720088341It's okay anon, Black kings are allowed to cry too sometimes.
>>720085601i don't think i've ever actually cried at a vidya but some moments make me feel emotionsthe s1 ending of twd is probably the closest though>>720088120 also got me as a kid, but not as much
>>720085601Imagine crying for some computer software, my sides. OP you really are a faggot.
>>720088341Few, if ever, times vidya expressed that feeling of absolute freedom like Journey did that one timeI s'pose i ruined it now, but still, the lead up to and that release? I don't say kino ever, but holy shitThat's about it tho. Can't think of any other what did that
>>720085601It's cringe and gay, but MGS3 unironically made me cry at the ending. I still kinda tear up whenever I hear that song, too.
>>720088819I never got that one. I didn't care too much by the end of it.
>>720092803honestly it's primarily the voice acting really selling the characters' emotions for methe music being the obligatory sad piano remix of their theme also contributes, but not as much
>>720085601Asking first time is a bad idea, I'm not sure if it's something most people can remember.
>>720085601https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mH_Zl2Rgl5M>>720089440would've been way better if the boss was a man and was fatherly chiding jack the entire game for going along with the suicide mission
>>720085601When I beat a really hard boss on an avatar ds game but then my ds ran out of battery and I realized I had to redo the entire fight
>>720085601Silent Hill 2 ending when I realized what a piece of shit I am.later I realized I was a monumentally bigger piece of shit than I thought previously but that's beside the point.
I’ve literally never cried to a video game. I’ve gotten teary-eyed from a few movies, shows and some good music but never from a game. No clue why. The only time I came even remotely close to getting emotional from a game was the end of The Walking Dead Season 1 but that’s probably because it feels more like a tv show and not a game.
I must have autism because that game made me fucking angry. Don't they mind wipe the entire reason he wanted to go to the moon?
This one, music great as always
Shout is an embarrassing song and Seven Nation Army is the most overplayed shit in stadiums.
When Ken kept beating my ass in Street Fighter 2
the reveal in To The Moon Lee dying in TWDI think that's it
I don't remember the first timeMaybe walking dead? I definitely remember the last time Disco Elysium dream sequence
>>720096387Aren't they recovering repressed memories?
I bumped my game boy against the car door while getting out of mom's car, and it deleted my Pokemon Red save.
>To the moon remastered for free and in 16:9Cool>3GB for an RPGMaker gameWhat the fuck
>>720096387>>720096761Read if you played the game. Johnny wanted to go to the Moon because of a promise he made to River when they met as kids. Due to the death of his brother and the beta blockers he took, he completely forgot who he was and essentially lived his brother's life. River clung onto their original meeting their entire life, and in the end, Eva moves River and rewrites Johnny's life so he can fulfill his promise. River still shows up later though, but most of Johnny's life is rewritten to make that so. This entire scene is my favorite song and scene from any piece of media. I don't think I can say anything bad about it.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cdux5CnfPIk
Seeing the king totally aware of what would happen to him and Nier screaming at him and being on the door really got to me.My mom opened my door, saw me crying at a video game, called me a faggot and then closed the door.
>>720096983It was ported to Unity and its Serenity Forge, that's why its so big. I just play the originals since they look and play better (use the older builds for proper font).>>720096995Also to add, if you think To The Moon was devastating, play the other games in the series (A Bird Story, Finding Paradise, Impostor Factory). They are immensely more sad.
>>720085601I've posted this before but Super Mario Sunshine made me cry with rage trying to complete Bianco Hills 6, The Secret of the Dirty Lake. I tried asking my dad for help and he just yelled at me and said "SOUNDS LIKE YOU WANNA GO OUTSIDE HUH"I hated the secret levels with a passion.
>>720085852I'm curious what part of V3? Was it the conclusion of trial 5?
>>720097082>It was ported to UnityWhat the fuck, what about the RPG battle joke against the rabbit? Is that still there?
>>720097007Same. Also the final ending. I don't know why but people completely forgetting about a loved one always gets to me, the Fuuko route in CLANNAD did the same.
>>720085601Don't think I ever have, they are just not well written enough
>>720097161It's 1:1 surprisingly outside of an issue or two. It's not as bad as LISA's port.Don't play the console (Switch) versions of To The Moon or the others, they have a completely different art style and are buggy.
>>720096374 I used to think the same until I played NieR: Automata. That ending hit like a goddamn freight train made of existential dread and sad robots. Something about fighting so hard just to sacrifice everything and then those credits rolling while you struggle through bullet hell to "save" the data felt way too real. It's not just "feelsy," it's like it sneaks up on you and smacks you emotionally sideways. Give it a shot if you haven't-might crack the stone.
>>720097197What version of CLANNAD do I play?
>>720096995>Laura ShigiharaThe "Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark" lady?
>>720097283I got to the ending on a pirated copy and no one came to help me, I just had to ragequit and cry myself to sleep
>>720097385That's probably her worse song desu. She's done so much better and more notable.Like fucking Plants vs Zombies
Since people are talking about endings, what was the saddest ending for a game you played?
>>720085601Sonic mania because it has been the only good thing for the franchise in more than 15 years
>>720097312I played the Steam version, but I don't believe anything is missing from the Switch version. Only play Tomoyo after (sequel to her route) if you really like her because the twist is retarded. And don't get Clannad Side stories it sucks.
>>720097560Probably Kara no Shoujo... 2.It felt so bleak.
>>720097769>didn't get a (You) even though I posted itNever had that happen in 8 years of posting on this site.Isn't Side Stories apart of the main game? Or am I thinking of Epilogue? Also, the Steam version doesn't have the original soundtrack which is why I haven't played it. I think the same issue applies to Switch
>>720097112NTA but Clair de Lune kicking in at the end with Shuichi talking about how real it all was was unexpected and hit me in the feels. It's a really good scene. "I am Hajime Hinata!" and everything leading up to it in 2 got me harder though.
>>720085601The Walking Dead S1but I was also 10 at the time, so no one make fun...
>>720097560First game that came to mind was Persona 3 at least. I'm a sucker for the sacrificial trope.
>>720097560I don't think anything will beat this.
>>720097560I was gonna say P3 as well but at least that one's victorious, the anon who said KnS 2 is more correct. Just miserable, true utsuge.
>>720097909That happens to me once in a while. Side stories is just that, side stories. But for some retarded reason, it is not a VN. It is literally a slide show and you have no control over how fast the text goes. I have no idea why the fuck they did that.Epilogue comes with the game, it takes place after Nagisa's route. Just checked the steam version has the OST but 10 bucks as DLC. I'd personally just pirate that but up to you. Clannad's pretty good, Kyou is best girl but they're all likable.
>>720085601Gears 2 when Dom finds his wife
>>720096471This
>>720097560I feel like I'm forgetting one but the final Nier ending. Narcissu's is really well done too.
>>720085601When my Microsoft Minesweeper stats showed 100 games played, 99 loss, 1 win; 0% win-rate
>>720089440Same, Way to Fall was a great choice for the credits song
>>720089440Nothing cringe and gay about crying you nigger. It's what makes us human.
>>720097560I want to say picrel but it's also uplifting in other ways
>>720097560Persona 2 Innocent Sin
>>720100013>I need to be alone WHILE I SUFFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER
>I love you, Dad
>>720085601i havent cried in 20 years
>>720089440Way To Fall is great, but for me it's The Best Is Yet To Comehttps://youtu.be/OhFoRmabWpE
>>720085601I don't remember the first, so I'll just post the most recent instead.
>>720085601I don't remember the first but I do remember that this game destroyed me
>>720085601This scene right here. I was 14 and hormonal and I had tears in my eyes.Shame about the rest of the game,https://youtu.be/etdIvpEV-YA?t=116
Never for video games. Only things that have are the Bible and the finale of LOST.
The one and only time
>>720085601>first timehow do you niggas even remember thatanyway this was the most recent one for me
>>720085601i cry every time i finish a game while I look for another to plug the hole in my soul
>>720097560anything with "impossible love", when things just aren't meant to be (FFX for example)on another note, while it didn't make me cry, LA Noire just ends SAD
>Half as long>Twice as bright>I gotta try>I knowJust fuck me up, senpai
Never, im not a bitch.
>>720088341When you grow up, you'll start crying to media too. You have too little life experience at this point. Stop trying to give adults advice and go kick a ball or something, Timmy.
