I prefer pure evil completely unfair traps 2bh.
They're fucking traps, not donkey kong throwing a barrel at you. You're not meant to see them and it's meant to piss you off a bit. Then you learn a path around them. Or you should get something to make them become visible, to motivate you to use mechanics and find things that make traps easier to find.

MGS1 is the best game for this with hidden claymores.
1. it makes them feel like REAL traps in real life which you normally can't see at all
2. you use workarounds and gadgets (Thermal goggles, Mine detectors) to work around what you can't see, which is kinda neato and fun, it becomes a minor puzzle and disarming them feels like an achievement

In SS, disarming traps can kinda be fun. Kinda. But they're also very obvious and that makes me ashamed when I get caught.

They give you heaps of time.
But not when you're just starting, you learn how much time the game gives you eventually and you sense actually get sharper.
My sense were blunt as during HK and never really got much better.
Not the same with SS. I feel like I get better with this game, despite not beating things a lot of the time.

It punishes both and says "you need to master it first". If you play fast and reckless, you gotta nail it. If you play conservative, you gotta nail it.

Souls has a bad habit of making one strat too overpowered of the whole game. This game kinda forces you to either master your main strat or try something new (but even then, you need to master the new strat too and often that requires relearning shit).

Yeah, but the box is actually jank on it.
It's the only one I've had that issue with so far.
It will grab you so far from it that it reminds me of Souls enemies that pull you from nowhere through objects.

It's actually bugged and needs an animation fix to make that hitbox make more sense (not a hitbox fix, it's better keeping it hard).
I will have to check this though. It happened a couple times. I was nearly half a Hornet away from them and they weren't even in jump animation.
