Played Pseudoregalia this week and it was okish, Not a lot of tools you actually get and the wallrun is just way too easy. Fantastic feeling longjump tho.
Sephonie feels like playing a Tony Hawk skater game but on foot. Once it clicks all the awkwardness goes away and it turns into a smooth vibe. The checkpoint system you can always recall to yourself helps a lot.
This year Avowed was also really fucking fun to move in. The mapdesign is perfectly tuned to your abilities and the ledgegrab rides that fine line of being just a little broken enough that you can climb up many unintended areas and peak behind the veil of the game.

There's no such thing as half of a press, the "press" is obviously when you push down on the button. The release is not part of the "press", so it's a full press.

Normal jumps give you more air control AND allows you to reach the ground quicker if let go.
Side flips not not give you as much air control or the ability to reach the ground quicker, but gives you much higher verticality.

Each of Mario's jumps have different uses and quirks so you have a better way to deal with obstacles with one jump than the other. If you gave Mario's normal jump the quirks of the side flip you'd get really fucking annoyed because it would kill your horizontal momentum just like how if you gave the side flip the quirks of the normal jump you'd be upset because you have all this air control with almost no horizontal momentum.
And even if you would still want his normal jump to have side flip height for some reason, that is a bit ridiculous because where does that end? Should all jumps just be the best one in all situations? I don't think so.

Spider-man games and Arkham Knight are really fun games to just fuck around. I don't know if it counts because it's in a vehicle, but Starfox 64 controls great and is so fast im still impressed.
