I would have taken a honest look at what were the flaws of Hollow Knight (bad upgrades, poor QoL, stretched out too long compared to amount of content) and made a real effort to fix all of them. I would have NOT simply assumed that my first try was perfect and all I needed to do was replicate it (but double the health and damage of every enemy to make it more "hardcore"), despite my annoying, shitty fans claiming otherwise.

All the gripes I had with hollow knight got fixed though.
My only issue with silksong are the 2 heart contact damage on everything and the runback to a couple of the bosses. It's the closest to a 9/10 game I've played in years.

I genuinely think the losing 2 lives on some hits part was a bad decision. Those lives are there for a reason and the game should be balanced around having just 5 and losing 1 with each hit (and however many you end up with) instead of fucking you over by sometimes losing 2.

That literally doesn't affect anythuing I said. The player should always see where he is on a map. There should be no cost attached to that, inclduing opportunity cost. It should just be geiven for free. It's fucking retarded to even debate this, it's so obvious.
