Why are so many people returning to this game? This might be the biggest resurgence ever for a game so old. Are people finally over CS2 , the cheaters, the gambling and lack of server browser with custom servers?

shut up man the map is changing to floorbreak, lock in
>>
>>720142892
no one played this shit back in the day and no one is playing it today, that's 100% botting
>June 21: 18k players
>June 22: 46k players
>averaging ~15k before for over a decade
>nothing on the internet about it, no tournament, no big youtuber shilling it to zoomers
>>

>>720143634
I like source so I choose to believe there's a resurgence.
>>
>>720142892
>this graph
lmao it's getting the TF2 treatment
>>

probably for the same reason TF2 was botted, massive autism
>>
Isn't 1.6 more populare?
>>
>>720144672
...so you can play the game? do GO zoomers really play for hats or whatever tf2 whacky bullshit got grafted onto my 24/7 de_dust2 ***150 tick*** xX1337d0gsXx cLaN simulator
>>
>>720145180
Always been, it's clearly getting botted... for some reason.
>>
>>720145468
Nah this is cope, game has 3x the population
>>
>>720145767
Sure anon.
>>
>>720142892
I tried to like C2 but the lag, speakers advantage, visual clutter and cheaters are too annoying. Might give source or 1.6 a go again but I doubt it has any less cheaters
>>
>be 12yo have a blast playing cs in lan with friends, in a few years we play stuff like dota in wc3 too
>over 20 years later it's still the most popular multiplayer games in the world along with some clones, the only kinda new thing is battle royales and nothing else

How has multiplayer gaming stagnated this badly?
>>
>>720142892
>Why are so many people returning to this game?
They don't. It's botted into oblivion for some reason
>>
>>720146170
You're almost never find hackers on servers that ban the awp.
>>
>>720146380
WoW came out the following year. Between that and matchmaking you have your answer.
>>
>>720142892
I am going to go ahead and guess that it's probably something to do with a lack of hacking and gambling addicted zoomers and younger. The good ol' days.
>>
>>720146170
>speakers advantage
the what now?

What's the point of botting an old game like that without any economy?
>>
>>720146605
Sorry, that was auto correct
I mean peaker's advantage
>>
>>720146967
Ah yeah, 100+ ping p90 bros are a nightmare, but not as much as the juan tappers. True. I thought it was a new sound meta lol.

I W I S H

Source or 1.6

I'd take anything over dogshit that is "csgo" or "cs2" but it is probably just a bot wave
>>
>>720142892
it's bots, retard
>>
>>720142892
i still play css just for bhop and gun game servers. cs2 blows in that regard

>Meanwhile CS2 has a predictable sine wave
Yeah it's bots.
