I fucking hated how Octopath Traveler didn't do this, despite the entire premise of the game being about a bunch of different characters with their own backstories and goals. That game was such shit on a pogo stick.

I was just thinking of Octopath and considering checking it out. The idea of having a number of protagonists interested me. What made it shitty and are there other games that execute this idea better?
