I still think there's a chance they're going to announce a new handheld/console on Apple hardware to compete with the Switch 2.
Nintendo's the only company operating in that market segment right now.
There isn't much incentive for consumers to buy the mainstream consoles now that they're basically PCs. So competing within the "Portable if you need it, full screen when you want it." format is probably the most viable way forward. And that's where Apple's most relevant anyway.
A highly competent SOC with high end features in a small package with a long battery life is exactly what it would take to compete with Nintendo.
