Why aren't video game ads cool like they used to be?
I tied up my sister like this when she broke my gameboy advanced, then I proceeded to have sexual relations
>>720250874>advertisements Miss me with that shit
They need to start hiring the french to do ads
>forgot the spoileruh oh
>/v/tards so retarded they actually miss adsgoyim gotta goy i guess
>>720251691I miss not being treated as a subhuman just for being a straight white male
>>720251984>t. Pablo Sanchéz from Texas
>>720251691Zoomers wouldn't understand how life was before the internet and where the only way you found out about games was through magazines and commercials.
>>720251016Yeah, black people were the ones crying about sexism and sexy designs in video games, not the shitheads like Hamburger Helper who couldn't write her way out of a bad check or the bitches like Anita who never touched a game controller in her life in earnest. Protip: Look at the dev teams today, not from the games that are "LE BASED", the teams that are getting laid off. Ain't a single black person to be found except in catering and they don't get invited to the group photos.
>>720251691I've met millennials who literally sing ad songs and repeat "funny" commercials to each other it is ridiculous
>>720250874>Why aren't video game ads cool like they used to be?because videogames havent been cool for almost 20 yearsthey ruined them with woke dei crap over a decade ago then came for bitcoins memes AI and whatever shit comes next
>>720250874I mean advertisements in general were more willing to be edgy back when, it wasn't specifically video gameshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I03UmJbK0lA
>>720252215You've earned an grown up point, keep it up, little Jimmy!
>>720252079Nah you went to the game store and judged the entire game and potential purchase by the fucking cover, that's it.
>>720252443there were game stores in the 90s?I wasn’t alive then so I wouldn’t know
>>720252640There were game magazines and word of mouth.By the time of Super Nintendo, there was some minor conversation in discussion boards on whatever internet service you were using at the time (AOL, Prodigy, etc) and you might get some non-local word of mouth if you weren't hearing things from friends.I learned of Chrono Trigger before it hit the West due to looking for MIDI files of Final Fantasy music.
>>720252443My parents were not taking me that often to Funcoland or wherever the fuck when I was a little kid. I mainly learned about new games from Nintendo Power and GamePro.
>>720252793>I learned of Chrono Trigger before it hit the West due to looking for MIDI files of Final Fantasy musicMy godbrother imported stuff from Japan and we played Sonic Adventure months before it hit the states. He even had some JP-only games for the Saturn. Otherwise, every kid in school or the playground had at least the usual classics, one or two underrated titles and definitely a shitty game, usually a licensed-based game. You could learn what was good and bad from them, or even lend your game for theirs.
>>720252640mom & pop game stores that had imports from other parts of the world or very niche games in stock.>>720253025>He didn't just bike 50 minutes to the nearest mall to hang out there with friends all weekend and play games on those display cabinets in random restaurants or electronics stores
>>720252443>Nah you went to the game store and judged the entire game and potential purchase by the fucking coverI knew exactly what game I wanted going in the large majority of the time. Occasionally I would go in to the game store to browse for fun but this rarely led to a purchase.
>>720253107>My godbrother imported stuff from Japan and we played Sonic Adventure months before it hit the states.Cool godbrother
>>720250874Because zoomers deserve shit products.
>>720253357>Street Fighter 2 in front of the Wal-Mart>Street Fighter 2 at the mall arcade>Street Fighter 2 at some random shop cornerStreet Fighter 2 cabinets were fucking everywhere back in the day
>>720250874We can't objectify women in the west anymore... I know, it sucks.
>>720250874americans
what's the point of ads these days when everyone's blocking them?
>>720254043>when everyone's blocking them?for now.
>>720254043I don't block them, I just switch tabs, mute, or look at another screen. Your gaming area does have multiple screens, right?
>>720254043Anon, you're dumb.
>>720250874This bit is definitely Hispanic. Probably a border hopper who was trafficked.Looks like a Maria.
>>720255510imagine living like thisoh well, you watching these ads means the website stays free and i can block themthank you for your service
>>720253701>objectify womenthat is a shota dream, anon.

>>720251691>I-i-it's the jooooooos!Back to /pol/, fuckface.
>>720251691Fuck off nigger lover
>>720250874Vidya becoming a normalfag hobby is why everything about the culture surrounding it is so much more lame and gay than it was ~20 years ago. People on here will say it's because of consulting groups, HR departments, politics, etc., and in a sense they're correct, but the only reason those things are even around is because games have a much larger consumer base than they did years ago.
Pretty sure there is a term for it when people feel the need to pointlessly revise and change things for the sake of progress despite often times those changes being pointless. Ultimately I think that’s part of what’s happened. People have no talent to make or create anything themselves so the only sense of progress they have is by removing anything that makes them go hmm this could bother someone. when you have enough people like that working in an industry the end products end up being dogshit and everything feels as lame as corporate as it does today.
