Do you cheat in video games and does it feel good?
>>
i couldn't beat the game even on casual.
my units were too underleveled because they kept dying
>>
>>720257673
Oh no I didn't grow in video games. Surly I will fail at life now.
>>
>>720257673
Yeah i modded nemesis out of the re2remake and gave myself lots of gold in undertale

My experience was being ruined and I fixed it

>die
>get mad
>enable cheats
>not mad anymore
just the way i prefer to play, this fact makes "certain" people mad, but unfortunately there is no cheat code in real life they can enable to help with that
>>
Also, do you mod gameplay? Then you cheat at games. Take any video game, let's say Fallout 4. Look at the gameplay mods, every single one of them makes the game easier, all of them.
>>
>>720257673
No I don't but I also don't have a problem with people who do. It's a video game who gives a shit what modifications other make to their own personal copy?
If someone goes through the trouble of hacking the game to make it easier, all the power to them. It's certainly better than casuls begging for easy modes or nagging devs to nerf the game making the experience worse for everyone, see Doom Eternal TAG nerf.
>>
>>720258810
The only mod I used in Fallout 4 was more cryo cell ammo (there's no way to craft it nor is there enough for a playthrough) I wanted to play as Mr. Freeze. Felt good. But I had this nagging thought that if I wanted I could just beat the entire game with a mod.
>>

Real recognize real
>>
>>720257673
I had debating playing the game on a harder difficulty but enabling casual mode since I just reset on unit loss anyway. I think not having permadeath might actually make FE more fun by opening up more tactical decisions in the game and remove frustration from reinforcement spawns. Ultimately I stuck with normal/classic though.

I'd kind of like to see an FE style game built from the ground up without permadeath, perhaps one that drains your resources or otherwise gives you poor ranks for letting units die. Make it a slow, long term death for letting units die rather than something that can be fixed by resetting.

Seen the 1911 .45 pistol mod? It's fantastic, the weapon looks and feels great. It's also like 50% stronger than the 45 pipe revolver and can easily take you into endgame content. Way too damn strong.

It can't be that hard to mod. I'm too lazy.
>>
>>720257673
>Play on classic
>Reset after any death
>Basically playing on casual but in the most retarded way possible
>>
>>720258810
What about Rimworld, most of the most popular mods add new things to do that add more things to time manage
>>
>>720257673
I used to cheat in Minecraft and chess, I would do it in very subtle ways as to not trigger the anticheat and I would obliterate people. I would win all matches in a row and made kids seethe with rage.
Honestly it was so much fun and it did feel good.
Cheating is awesome, I also cheat in school. All winners cheat. All.
>>
>>720257673
I always play X6 with the ultimate armor, I already finished the game without it once, now I only want to have dumb fun
>>
>>720257673
Yes, I know better than the devs how the game should be. Every game is flawed and I could improve all of them.

I beat the game thoroughly without cheats.
Then I use cheats to fuck around with the mechanics.
>>
>>720257673
>lose units
I won't be able to stop myself from save scumming so I'd rather just go with casual desubehonest
>>
>>720257673
>unit dies
>reset the game and start the battle over
you didnt beat the game
>>
Classic mode just encourages hard resetting at every minor bump in the road.
Casual lets you mess up maps and still limp through them.

I will always play on the lowest difficulty available
I will always cheat if even that's not easy enough
And there's nothing you can do to stop me
>>
>>720257673
I'm not a cheater -- I only play on casual because reading the death quotes bum me out; I don't let them die. If a unit falls I always reload my save state.
>>
I cheat in games that demand a grind.
>>
>>720257673
Permadeath is never fun in videogames.
>>
>>720257673
I love cheating in video games.
>>
>>720259545
The DLC for Engage always has casual mode. Initially I played it with a self enforced classic mode, resetting on unit death, but by the later stages I just gave up and started intentionally using units as decoys on some maps to drag away enemies and expose the boss. So I guess it does "open up a more tactical decision" if you count "distract the enemies and zerg rush the boss in one turn" as more tactical than "cleanly and thoroughly execute a strategy."
>>
>>720257673
Yes. Since I'm not a total loser, I don't need to "grow and improve" at video games. I play them to have a good time.
>>
>>720257673
casual mode isn't cheating
cheating is like
>IDDQD
>power overwhelming
it's not something that you can just select from the game menu
>>
>>720257673
I can think of few things more pitiable than caring about how other people play video games.
>>
Most FE games are easy enough to beat blind no reload no save state there is no excuse. Maybe Thracia fog is the exception but you can get replacement units that are 90% as good it's not a big deal even if you lose units every battle.

I don't see the issue, I often prefer to make things harder for myself because I find it rewarding, but depending on the title I'm playing and/or just the overall mood I'm in I'll want to do the opposite and I don't see the issue, especially in offline singleplayer.
>>
>>720258557
>nemesis
>2make
>>
>>720257673
Yes and yes. I want to play fairly, but if the dev does something retarded like making one gun absurdly OP and the rest trash, I will obviously take my virtual wrench and balance things out myself.
>>
Is it true on PC people don't hound you about your trophy percentages?

I don't know why finishing a game on hard isnt enough, why do I need to collect a bunch of gay shit to "really finish a game".
>>
>>720257673
yeah, like I have a x10xp and x10 loot in Last Epoch and if possible in any arpg ever made
fuck that gay shit
>>
>>720259572
The cryolater is also incredibly strong and since I have the X-01 Enclave Armor I'm unstoppable. I'm just mowing everything down on Hard difficulty. I really feel like I pressed the "x to win" button. So I can understand why modding might feel shitty. I think you should attempt one legit playthrough.
>>
I do self imposed challenge runs and I don't even tell anyone that I do them.
>>
>>720257673

Stop taking video games seriously, go outside and take a walk.
>>
>>720260879
PC players don't even talk about Steam achievements let alone judge people by how many they have.

>xhe isn't using cheats to make the game harder
>>
The original tweet came from a response to a games journo saying they used cheats in Sekiro. A game like that, you may as well not even play if you're just cheating to win. Buy like another anon said games that demand a grind I support cheats. Players who have max experience helping newer players by steamrolling missions. Guides. Mods.
I wanted to quickly level up my Blacksmith skill in Skyrim so I made a shit lode of gold rings, broke the economy, still had many more so I practiced enchanting.

In one fell swoop I maxed my speech, blacksmith, and enchanting. I felt a little bad. I hadn't done shit.

The people who screech about
>VIDEO GAMES ARE MEANT TO BE A CHALLENGE, IF YOU DON'T PLAY IT ON UBER-MEGA-HARDMODE YOU'RE FUCKING WORTHLESS AND SHOULD KYS
Are about as annoying as the people who screech about
>VIDEO GAMES ARE MEANT TO BE AN ART FORM, IF YOU DON'T APPRECIATE OUR TURBO-UGLY DYKE MAIN CHARACTER YOU'RE FUCKING HOMOPHOBIC AND SHOULD KYS
Video games exist for one reason above all else: Entertainment.
>>
>>720257673
This kind of image depresses me so deeply. There is no ‘skill’ to test and develop that really matters in the real world - to a user playing a game, if the game is competitive, sure, competition is fun. But to put all of your personal energy into ‘improving’ at a game, seems so shallow and pointless.
>>
>>720257673
>Do you cheat in video games
Yeah. In Fire Emblem I play on Casual, in Dark Souls and Elden Ring I look up the Bonfire / Grace locations, when I emulate games I use save states, and in RPGs I always look up the puzzles so I don't have to waste time figuring them out because I play RPGs for the story and roleplaying not stupid fucking puzzles.
>does it feel good?
Yeah, it feels great. I play video games for fun, not to impress strangers
>>
>>720260879
I only play vidya for achievements. If not for those I would still watch youtube playthroughs. Maybe I would have a life too. But no. Sadly my interest in video games begins and ends with what reward I get for doing something.
>>

Are you a consolefag? The mods are there to make the game more difficult. Unless you don't have access to script extenders. Which would mean you play Todd games on console.

Is using the in game codes in Animal Crossing on gamecube cheating?
>>
>>720262845
yes
but who cares desu it's animal crossing
>>
A lot of games from numerous different companies have arbitrary resource scarcity for specific items for no logical reason, or alternative vendors for those items. Most recent example I've played was Living Jar Shards in ER. The game isn't competitive and just like many other titles that have collecting aspects, are arbitrarily wasting your time if they force extremely slow farming or grinding for something you want. I'm not going to spend dozens of extra hours boringly grinding for item drops to beat a non competitive game in a particular playstyle where fighting the bosses alone also has RNG baked in. Faggot gacha dropping things like charms in MH are another example.
