Hello, folks. I was wondering if anyone else played Smurf's Dance Party for the Nintendo Wii when it came out and felt disappointed about it.

I am a huge Smurf's Fan (have been since the 80s) and I am well known as the most famous figure in the Smurf's Fanon community (My name is Vic George by the way.) For various reasons I would like to detail, I am to this day still upset that the Smurf's Dance Party game was not of a higher quality. My biggest reason is the fact that dance quality is not sensitive in the slightest. The Wii is not good at tracking dancing, and all I need to do is waggle the remote when a prompt comes up, and it counts as a perfect move. Furthermore, none of the songs are actually challenging, which I can understand for a family audience, but I still believe they should have included a couple of harder dance routines for more hardcore players (similar to the Barbara Streisand cheat code in Just Dance 3 for the Wii.) I also take issue with the Smurf models. They are not good. They take the iconic designs of the early 2010s movie Smurfs and transform them into ugly abominations. In addition, their general movement is terrible and I could imagine how it could scare a younger player.

Furthermore, the story is intriguing, but lackluster. It details a loose retelling of the movie it is based on, but with strange elements thrown in. Why is there an entire song about collecting Smurfberries, when the movie had much more action? Honestly, the best part of the game are the movie segments thrown in, but they would rather make me want to watch the movies themselves rather than play this garbage. Lastly, the songs themselves aren't too bad. I do enjoy playing "Mr Bombastic" by Shaggy, although none of the songs are the actual songs, but instead covers.
