But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed by how little utility the Elegy of the Deep had. The moment I got it I returned to Shakra's master. I returned to defeated bosses I fought like the Phantom, Sinner, Widow, Judge, and Groal fights among others. And I visited interesting geographical locations like the top of Mount Fray. The crying statues at the Shellwood graveyard. Or where you initially fell at the very start of the game. Etc. And well. Nothing. The game has a fuck ton of content so I totally get it. If I got what I wanted I am sure the game would have been delayed another couple of years or something. But I still really wish the song opened up more stuff than it does, and it would have been a really cool and interesting opportunity to revisit prior game content in a new and exciting light. So I would really love it if something like that happens.

And then I just through the long corridor directly west of the Bellway and then stuck close to the walls as I jumped up the towers, ignoring all enemies. The only place that was moderately difficult I feel like was the long road west of Grey's Halfway Home that had enemies in it, that you can easily jump over but will fuck up your entire run if you mess it up. And then the tower in Sinner's Road where the prince was locked up. But if you just ran into the exits and back in as you climbed up you could de-aggro the enemies making it pretty simple anyway.

I did all the wishes that turned up but I’m missing about 40 enemies and a few bosses so there’s probably at least 2 areas I never visited, plus all the knickknacks I didn’t find.Story is not as good as the first one. Lace equals the Hollow Knight in story importance but I found her less compelling. My main complaint is how the true ending fucks over everyone but Hornet and Lace. The Haunting was bad but Act 3’s calamity is way worse. Hornet didn’t know what would happen but still, beating the game feels like pic related.
