Well, it might have been true, had Anthem not fucking cratered.
>>
>>720286197
And Dragon age.

>a new IP for a propaganda studio
yeah right, they can only contaminate
>>
>>720282883
Evil can only corrupt and destroy, never create. Fire everyone and go tabula rasa.
>>
bioware haven't made a good game in 20 years
>>
>>720286834
Even had Dragon Age been a success, EA isn't gonna get behind Bioware making another new IP, after Anthem.

>>720287091
Even if they did, what is the actual hook for the audience?
>From publisher EA
>And the studio that gave you Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Anthem and Dragon Age: Veilguard
>A new IP that is culturally compromised
You might as well burn the money you were going to spend, or bring back LJN to make a new video game. At least with LJN the meme potential would generate some interest.
>>
>>720287278
Since Jade Empire? Nah, ME2 is a goat contender, and shaped video games for years to come. That's 15 years ago. Well, almost 16.
>>
>>720287739
>ME2 is a goat contender
no
I won't elaborate
>>
>>720282883
>Everyone absolutely adores Mass Effect
Modern journalism man, fuck Mass Effect.
>>
>>720287810
It doesn't matter if you consider it so or not, but it is. ME2 was a very influential game, with a large staying power. Arguably, the most popular game in the franchise, too.
>>
There was an article I read a few years ago about why Anthem was as shit as it was, and it basically boiled down to BioWare expecting the game to magically come together on its own at the last minute, even though they had a bunch of barely functional game systems that weren't interconnected in any meaningful way. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
>>
>>720282883
I wholeheartedly agree, but entirely because a new Mass Effect is 100% guaranteed to bring back Shepard's crew and I don't want nuBioware to horribly fuck them up beyond recognition.
>>
>>720288073
Yeah, pretty sure Schreier wrote that one.
>>
>>720282883
AAA companies are cruise ships or aircraft carriers. The only decision that has an immediate affect is the cancellation of a project. Anything else is going to take YEARS to bear any fruit. You have senior designers who have worked at a AAA company for a decade without every shipping a game. They worked on a dozen projects every day, created assets, wrote narratives, characters, designers but every single game they worked on was cancelled, revamped or the team was shut down and the designers moved to other projects. Like take Hudsons Human Head whatever studio for example. He opened that studio shortly after leaving bioware, they worked on a game for YEARS but then it fell apart and the company was shut down without shipping ANYTHING. All that work, all that money, all that time got flushed down the drain.
>>
>>720288094
I think that's happening regardless. Like at some point EA is going to try another hand at it, in maybe 10 years after this one, if it fails. Either through some other EA studio, like Motive, or they "make" one out of employees wherever, and call it N7 Studios. EA will not let Mass Effect rest, because they can sell it, but it needs fixing, whereas Dragon Age is unsalvageable, and also EA doesn't like it. You gotta pick your poison. Would you rather Bioware make a mid attempt at it, or would you rather some other studio remakes ME1 in another 10 years after that, recast everyone, and just kill all the nostalgia factor, while also not attracting anyone new? The franchise has a chance, this chance, and then it's the morgue table from there.
>>
>>720288189
Hudson and anyone working for him, can eat my ass.
>>
>>720288316
I do not care about EA's business or ME franchise going on
>>
>>720288445
Then what are you doing here?
>>
>>720288479
I don't know
>>
>>720282883
>Bioware must abandon Mass Effect to make its next best game.
>Bioware has made nothing but the same shit since day one.
>The only thing keeping the studio open was Mass Effect.

Bro Bioware was never fucking good.
>>
>>720288537
I liked BG2 and DAO.
>>
>>720288537
Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KotoR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age all were well received, successful titles, that influenced many games in the years to come. Bioware use to be the #1 RPG maker for a time, in the late 90s to end of 00s.
>>
>>720287739
Mass Effect 2 is a WEG with gameplay.
>>
>>720288687
>BIOWARE MADE THESE GAMES!
>Games that was notoriously frustrating but its all you had at the time so you ate the plate filled with shit anyway.
>Games so good that nobody plays them to this day unless its Mass Effect 2.

Bioware, was never, good.

You just had no choice when it came to the matter in what you played.
>>
>>720288761
worked for bg3 too
>>
>>720288809

What? Not a single one of them was frustrating, the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>720288920
'Modern' player.
>>
>>720288761
I wish it was a WEG. I might have seen what Jack's tattoos look like below the waist.

>>720288809
>>>Games that was notoriously frustrating but its all you had at the time so you ate the plate filled with shit anyway.
>>Games so good that nobody plays them to this day unless its Mass Effect 2.
People still play Baldur's Gate 1 & 2. Arguably, I do prefer Neverwinter Nights 2, over Neverwinter Nights, so you may have a point there. People still play KotoR, people still play ME1, people still play Dragon Age: Origins. Not talking about anything after that. Everything Bioware since DA2 has been shit. But people still play their old games.
>>
>>720288920
Maybe he's talking about the RTwP combat? I don't know.
>>
>>720287686
Mass Effect 3 and Inquisition are good, fucking retard.
>>
>>720289158
nice, simple and succinct
>>
>>720289158
Bait used to be believable.
>>
>>720282883
EA should just hurry the fuck up and kill the brand off entirely. Bioware's reputation is pure poison to anything they publish I genuinely doubt anyone but paid shills and retards touch their games anymore.
Did some shareholder get spooked by the EA graveyard image and that's why they refuse to execute more of their studio brands?
>>

>"one of greatest sci-fi rpgs ever made"
It makes me sick to my stomach that this is actually true, considering how bare bones mass effect is as an rpg. There's just nothing else that even comes close to it, and no one seems to eveb want to try.

if only nintendo would think that way about mario, zelda, pokemon, and all other stuff they keep remaking since the 80s-90s

You are a retard.
>>
>>720292258
And you make inconsequential claims.
>>
>>720282883
He's right. Mass Effect has too much straight white male baggage. We need to be better men and BioWare needs to abandon Mass Effect. It's holding the studio back from achieving true diversity.
>>
>>720282883
Bioware is done. All the talent of the past that made the games they are known for are gone.
>>
>>720288008
what did it influence?
>>
>>720292885
Fallout 4, Outer Worlds, Borderlands 3, the list goes on...
>>
>>720293053
>>Fallout 4, Outer Worlds, Borderlands 3
A lot of action/shooter RPGs were influenced by ME2, true. Stuff like recruitment missions, loyalty missions, incorporating characters into storylines, the Suicide Mission, character interactions, romances etc. You could say that aspects of these things were often part of other games, or even previous Bioware games, but a lot of them weren't executed to the extent that ME2 incorporated them, executed them, or manage to garner the attention and praise of its community, as well as other dev teams.
>>
>>720293443
lol was me2 your first bioware game?
>>
>>720293684
Baldur's Gate 1, in 1998.
What was yours?
>>
>>720293753
same, but I don't share your enthusiasm about me2 so I don't actually believe you

so it seems

>>720288687
>You know, 25-35 years ago we used to make good games
>And it took little to no time to develop them
>But for now as all the competent peoples left, we will make a shitty game every 7 years
>>
>>720288761
ME2's gameplay is worse than a lot of WEGs.
>>
I really hope they take advantage of the Stanley Woo meme in the next game.
Imagine fighting a a Volus crime boss conversation with Shepard
>Oh, herro Commanderu Shepad.
>Shame we meet before you have chirdren
>Shepad rine end here
>>
>>720294341
That is true. Imagine this
>be biotic Shepard
>make biotic copy of your dick
>have a biotic barrier over your dick that gets direct feedback from the bitch you're fucking with your biotic cock
>double penetrate Miranda's asshole with your real cock, and biotic cock
So many wasted opportunities
>>
>>720282883
They kinda abandoned andromeda (gave it to a new team) and came out with anthem so
>>
>>720288073
"BioWare magic"
Essentially they never knew what they were doing, but now everybody dedicated and good has left, or had their brain rotted out by politics, so now they just pump out shit.
>>
>>720291521
I said rpg you dumb nigger, not more marvel movie slop.

What a slimeball
>>
>>720288073
That sounds like they were in alpha up until release
>>
>>720302029
That is basically what happened. Even though the game was in development for seven years, actual production on the video game part of the video game didn't actually start until like a year before it shipped. Which is insane for any studio, but was doubly fucking bonkers for BioWare because they had decided to use EA's in-house engine, which nobody on the team was familiar with.
>>
>>720294341
Name some. Most have the worst gameplay imaginable.
