Ascension to the Throne. Made back when a huge selling point was how many half-naked girls were in it.
>>720298068Did you finished it? I couldn't beat the final lord of the first region and I know there are at least two other regions to clear.>>720296250I played it although I can't say I liked it.
>>720298623Nah sadly, it was on an older family-computer that was thrown out at some point and I never got far. I do remember clearing a region though.Overall pretty fun game. I should see if I can't get it working on a modern system some day.
Surprisingly good PS1 game based on my favorite Disney movie.
>>720299224King's Bounty 2 from what I've seen have oddly similar gameplay with the mix of over-the-sholder rpg and turn based homm combat. >>720313085Gba, the game only came out on it. Here's an odd thing I found out. The game was made by CinéGroupe, a Canadian animation studio. Yeah, animation studio. They also made two Dora the Explorer games on gba and beyond that their whole work is animated movies and tv shows.
>>720309572It got remake some years ago. I have to say the lack of any voice acting in the game makes it feel so odd. Like the game doesn't necessary have to be fully voiced, but seeing characters moving their mouths in complete silence in cutscenes looks just weird. They could at least put in some pseudo-ancient Egyptian mumbling if the budget was really too small to hire any voice actors.

>>720354124Scratches is another good one, though probably less obscure. I miss the weird mid-2000s adventure games; was a bizarre choice for a studio considering how far technology had advanced compared to the point-and-clicks of the late 80s and 90s.

>>720355856 Pretty much nailed it. It had that early-2000s "look how cool we are" aesthetic going on, but once the novelty wore off you hit that mid-tier jank wall hard. Combat felt floaty and the level design was all over the place. Still, I'd be lying if I said I didn't obsess over the VHS-style cutscenes as a kid.

>>720357029If you're ok with jankiness, and I assume you're, then I would say go for it. I especial liked how variety the levels were. You got your regular levels, pseudo-2D levels when you climb up walls, some puzzles and even vehicle sections. From negatives I remember finding the combat too floaty and overall bad and the checkpoints too sparse on some levels. I also can't really remember how good jumping was.
I spent 90% of my time on this game intentionally glitching through the map>>720342664pretty sure some friend lent me the PS2 version at some point and I remember liking it
>>720346916This image reminded me of a fighting game i played on pc like 20 years ago. It was something with animals that turned into buffed up versions of themselves. I remember there was even a goldfish or something that came out of a bowl and turned buff. Does anybody remember this? Also there was another thing i had in english class. Beside Muzzy there was an application/game that had a genie with a bus and he sang a song that went "welcome to our world" or something.
I played only the demo but the novelty of flying around someone's house stuck with me.>>720358268Could you misremember Earthworm Jim maybe? I know the series has goldfish villain.
>>720303658Fun fact: this game is based on a TV pilot that only got a proper show after the game released. The pilot is CGI animation like the Game while the show is 2D, and the red two headed alien got dropped from the main cast, but makes a special appearance on a episode
>>720358784I'm guessing it's also the reason the game isn't called Space Goofs like the show.

You solve murder on an island that's about to sink. There's a special mode where you have time limit to solve the case. When I played it years ago I bounced out of it since the gameplay looked to be about talking to every character on every topic and then coming back to characters you talked to at the start to talk about new information you learned. Nowadays I grew to like investigation-focused games so I've thought about giving the game another chance but the reviews complaining about extensive pixel hunting and overall sluggishness pull me away from it.

Anyone?
His smug aura mocks me
>>720361036Sadly Sokal in term of video games probably will be only remembered for Syberia and I guess Amerzone. Here's his another gam that fell into obscurity. I don't know what's the point behind the pantera levels.>>72036159510/10 cover>>720362150This actually supposed to be Frogger game before Konami pulled out of deal.
>>720358268Anon that is exactly the game that anon posted, it's Battle Beast.
>>720346038I think a friend of mine from childhood actually owned this. He was always embarrassed about it.
>>720362370Yes...it is..i recognized the dog with a spot and the fish. Finally..its over. Now i just need to find the genie educational game
>>720288668Project Nortubel
>>720362019It was a well known game as far as ex-USSR goes.
>>720307925OK since this is the threat I gotta shoot my shot.I remember a game where:In one of part of the opening cutscene, probably towards the end there was an engulfed staircase, hell like atmosphere. Maybe a demon or some monster appeared before it ends but I don't remember.Early 2000s action/adventure game vibes. Simple environment assets, you control a guy who walks around (probably wielding a sword?). It should be vaguely similar to Rune in terms of looks and feel. One of the first enemies you fight is a spider. And that's all I fucking remember.Does anyone magically know what I am talking about?
>>720363294If it helps I am mostly certain that there aren't any NPCs around in the early game.In the early game there is also an area with large stones, maybe similar to Stonehenge. Also it is possible that the spider ambushes you around here.I will try to remember more details.
>>720363294>similar to Rune in terms of looks and feelEnclave? You should play it regardless, it's cool.
>>720363540That's certainly not it. But I will keep your recommendation in mind anon, thanks regardless.
>>720303103I recall there being a tv kids game show where you called in to control the character on screen with Tak or really similar character
>>720363294>>720363540>>720363803I think the early game also took place outdoors. Maybe a grove or something similar. (Shouldn't have too many environmental details, old ass game). You reach the "Stonehenge" somewhere outside.
COLD WINTER ONLINE MULTIPLAYER
>>720289107I used to have a friend that often talked about how he liked the game but never went into details. How is it?
>>720363882Troll Hugo?
Came with my PC with no instructions. I'm not sure I ever figured out all the controls, the goal or how to play it correctly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhRgzWNjWYgI remember playing this in english yet I could never find it again.
>>720364525I remember that game being on my of the earlier PCs my parents got. I didn't play it much, but for some reason my mom became obsessed with it and played it through to completion multiple times.
I had a demo for pic related and I was captivated by it for some reason
>>720313410tell me the color of your skin and haircut and I may reply seriously
>>720327702>>720346207I believe it's Apocalypse for PS1. Bruce Willis is in it. It's kind of like a twin stick shooter and platformer from what I recall.
>>720300126it'd be some finnish dev making a finnish game about a finnish 70's cartoon
>>720348828>no doug buttonDROPPED
idk if this falls under obscure but i haven't seen a lot of people bring it up. was fun as hell though.
>>720307847i recently emulated this and it's not bad at all
>>720367841>haven't seen a lot of people bring it upIt's a game that gets brought up virtually every single time these threads are made.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfmYnCV0gUohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5AYZOfU198https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gsdyi-8HzDE
>>720368082well damn, okay. i guess i need to see these threads more often. in any case it was pretty dope.
>>720367841I got this for 6 bucks at a gamestop in the 90s. it was dogshit
>>720368217what was the main negative? i remember only the layout of the map being a bit gay with backtracking.
>>720362019i replayed it recently, but didnt went too far, one day i'll finish for sure>>720362150damn i was thinking of posting that one
>>720368150They put anything on GBA and DS, ech?
>>720367791Funnily enough, there just so happens to exist a Finnish C64 game made in the 80s as a tie-in game adaptation for the Finnish comedy film "Uuno Turhapuro muuttaa maalle" (Uuno Turhapuro Moves to the Countryside), which is part of the Uuno Turhapuro movie franchise. Here's gameplay of it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3d7XK-a3MUThe movie it was based on:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uuno_Turhapuro_muuttaa_maallet. Finnfag, who happened to play the game in the museum of technology
Bet you sluts never heard of A Farewell to Dragons.
>>720369514indeed I had never heard of it, daddy
>>720319627ive never played a game like it since i was first introduced to it when i had the demo discs years ago
>>720368150metal
Twisted Metal with boats.
>>720303103Holy shit memory unlockedThere must be so many gameboy games I've forgotten over the yearsIf only my retarded parents/grandparents hadn't sold literally every bit of retro gaming/tcg for fucking nothing at yard sales 10+ years ago
>>720354439After actually playing this I find it funny how often it gets mentioned in these kinds of threads because it's not named for that definition of the word. It's named because of the flashlight weakening gimmick and most enemies being "obscured" by dark plant things.
>>720367752vaguely remember it being retsupurae'd
budget jrpg from Slovakian studio.
>>720288668It's an angry birds rip-off but I didn't have my own phone so this held me over
>>720375632That legitimately looks fun as fuck.
>>720376956Personal I found it more underwhelming although truth to be told I didn't put a lot of hours into it.
>>720302408Insanely better environment design than so many AAA games made today.
Here's another Slovenian jrpg. Gods: Lands of Infinity. This time it also tries to be economic game.
Wouldn't mind a remake of this.
>>720288668first ever console game I played, parents gave it to me for my birthday with a gamecube and smash bros melee. I played this way more than melee at first because i couldnt figure out how to use the analog stick properly and this let you move with the dpad haha.played through it on emulator recently for nostalgia, its not the worst thing in the world but it is pretty bad lol. i enjoyed it a lot though, because of the nostalgia.
Moonbase CommanderMy dad and I loved this shit. The voices were especially memorable.>Your turn, commander.>It's your move.>Kickin' tires and lightin' fires! Nice work, ace.>Keep your eyes on the prize!
>>720380172Forgot the goddamned image for the second time today.
>>720300126>Keijo but western approved
>>720379890Remember this fondly, loved all the little gadgets and stuff
>>720307804Didn't this one get an PS1 release?
>>720379890Heh, just now I noticed the drifting dron tank.
>>720303723I remember the ps1 demo disc that had this one had it in japanes for some reason.
the Fire Department series
>>720381528This one was cool even if controlling vehicles was a pain in the ass.
>>720307565Lmao I'm playing this for the first time in 2025. I'm enjoying it so far. Castlevania Lament of Innocence I'm also enjoying a lot. They tell me curse of darkness is way better but this is still good. Idk if God of war ripped LOI or it was the other way around
>>720381671AI is really shit and the vehicle controls are not very good in the first game but the atmosphere and the missions developing as you play are fantastic started replaying the series recently for nostalgia's sake and I'm still enjoying it greatly despite the flaws
may as well dump some more webms I made, I've almost never seen anyone talk about this series anyway
>>720358642Played this at my uncles the day my grandpa died.
>>720382173>I've almost never seen anyone talk about this series anywayWeren't the game made by Germans? That's why.Emergency series is something I always wanted to give a try back in the day because of magazine ads but simply ended up forgetting about with time, and I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one like this.
>>720296250I rented a pirate game years and years ago. Couldn't find it but I think this is it!
>>720382592The Emergency games are great, 3 and 4 are the best ones IMO, tons of mission variety since you control all the emergency units instead of just firefighters so it can go from saving people in car wrecks to arresting terrorists and evacuating civilians from a bomb rigged cinemasurprisingly it's still alive as a series and they released a F2P version in 2023, I don't even want to think about all the microtransactions they must have shoved into ithttps://store.steampowered.com/app/850170/EMERGENCY/
>>720382592French actually. By Monte Cristo company. You're thinking about Emergency series which is a completely different franchise.
>>720383117Wait, so there were TWO separate series about firefighters?
>>720310101Bruh. Evolution was my first game for the dreamcast. Pretty rough but I enjoyed it. Never thought I would see it in the game cube. Didn't even know it had a sequel.
>>720383316only two RTS series featuring firefighters, yeahthere are some indie games Fire Commander that try to recreate them but they just aren't as in-depth as Emergency or Fire Department
>>720378417That's fair, maybe if I enjoy it I'll make a thread about it just for you Anon.
>>720383316>>720383571Well, to be precise Emergency is also about medical and police forces and not all levels revolve around fire. Monte Cristo's series is the one to focus on firefighters in specific.
>>720362019Reminds me of Draconus. Cult of the Wyrm. I played it on Dreamcast. Like a 3d hack and slash but extremely janky and basic. Never seen it discussed anywhere
>>720381584>Greece>white woman with blond hair on the cover
>>720311695i played that one too!!!
>>720310101Replayed the first one on the Dreamcast last year. Loved this back in the day. Must have beaten it like a dozen times. I completely forgot there were even any mystery dungeon like elements to it. Must be what kickstarted my love for those too
>>720369389I never played it but I knew it existed due to my first Gamecube game being Spy Hunter and the case had an ad for it inside
I had to Google this to make sure it wasn't from a fever dream.
>>720372089I played a bit of this. It felt really cheap.
>>720386684>Boogerman>obscure
>>720288668It's terrible.
>>720383641I wouldn't mind it although I don't know how I'll stumble on it.
>>720386684Snes had some weird shit.
>>720383425I think it's a port
>>720299282>Mc writing on the cover of his own gamehub. never seen that beforeand lmao an emperor got his groove back game?
>>720387375>sabertooth vs gambit is a 10-0 matchup because sabertooth has a bug where he can hit his command grab from fullscreen and gambit is the ONLY character in the cast who has 5f of delay before he can act on round start for some reason so he can't reach sabertooth before the chain beginsKino i'm afraid
>>720360762>>720362364these are very bad adventure games, I never understood why Syberia 1+2 were the only okay ones they ever made>>720352338>>720356263The movie is pretty much forgotten as well, I wish we got a Kingdom Hearts world but it's probably too late for that.
>>720351051its based i fear
>>720288668I remember a flash game about something gluey or maybe a booger, sticking to a wall and perhaps it was a puzzle game?another one was creepy dolls in a fighting game, when you win a round you cut on of your opponents limps and attached it to yoursI couldn't find them anywhere.. not even 128×128 pic..
