Stop playing in a boring way then niggy

Shit game.
Devs completely missed what made Hotline Miami great and fun to play
>>
>>720292134
Hotline Miami is woke and anti-Russian

Based
>>
>>720292134
It's not trying to be Hotline Miami, so I don't understand the comparison

>>720291029
why do leftards always defend lowlives and criminals
>>
If chuds vanished overnight what section of society would suffer?
>>
>>720291029
It was really good.
later missions were little overturned but other than that i liked both games
i did a normal run
Ghost
Kill everyone
>>
>>720294598
Because said lowlifes and criminals tend to be brown or black people
>>
>>720294786
If you do a strict ghost run you kind of miss out on what makes the game fun. Wahing guerilla warfare on goons using a combination of hit and run tactics and setting traps is where the real fun's at.
The only mission I've played so far that I didn't like was the mission where you've got to meet the undercover cop and that's mainly because the way cops react to you on that mission doesn't make a lot of sense. Mainly it's the fact that they'll just light you the fuck up if they see you on the streets but they don't give two shits as long as you're in the apartments because... they just assume that if you're in an apartment you're a resident there? So if someone who lives in one of those apartments decided to go out for some beer or cigerettes they'd just blow his head off the second they see him step out of his apartment?
>>
>>720292134
It's literally not trying to be Hotline Miami. It is however a top down 2D stealth game and I don't think you can do good 2D stealth games.
>>
>>720295556
Like i said i did 3 runs
because of ammo and recoil you can't really play it like a top down shooter even with a fully modded AR , you have go Rambo and ambush the enemies
>>
>>720292134
>>720291076
I'm inclined to agree. It's way overtuned and just not very fun to play. It's also insanely punishing and getting caught just leaves to a slaughter of hundreds of guards.
>>
>>720295693
why do you think that is? 2d gives clearer line of sight information, your surroundings are clear etc
>>
>>720294598
>saying this as a child molester is in the white house
>>
>>720292134
The dev took Splinter Cell and Hotline Miami and missed everything that made these two games fun. It's pretty fascinating in a way.

This is probably IMO the best 2D stealth game I've played (and maybe the only good one), but it still lacks the things that make a good stealth game which require 3D space to allow you to perceive the environment in unique/interesting ways.

A good 3D stealth usually has a multiscaling level that allows you to cheese the AI by rotating around, or a level that is extremely tight and requires precision, or levels that offer a mix of both.

Not to mention the use of lighting and shadow that is only truly played with when 3D is involved.

*A good 3D stealth game

But games like pic related restrict the player far too much and you basically have to play them like a 2D platformer without the fun platforming and annoying sightlines.

>hotline miami
>you can deal with situations room by room, with at most the enemies in the next room running over, and then the situation resets and you can approach the next room from stealth again where as in Intravenous enemies react almost globally and you will aggro thirty guys over the smallest thing who are way overtuned
>splinter cell
>you feel in control and can progress in the level at a calm pace, adapting to the new situations at a pace where you have time to adapt and have a lot of leeway before getting spotted, unlike in intravenous where you have a split second to perform an action before the guard you want to take out turns around and the next patrol comes back, but the slightest sound you make will alert everyone within the next 5 rooms
Something like that?

Yeah the story reads like cringe gun nut fetish content, it was hilarious in the last mission how the guys are all "omg Steve is such an animal of a man please hold me I'm scared". Gameplay-wise it's MGS but 2D with the same issues, mainly that the game gives you a bunch of weapons but you really just use the silenced handgun you started with all game long, I vaguely remember some jank here and there and the levels were really not all that memorable generally speaking.
>>
>>720296313
I couldn't get over how slow the character was inthis game. For some reason I don't mind it in 3d stealth games, but here in a platformer-looking game it was just annoying. Also didn't like that it required using a mouse.
>>
>>720296409
the game is probably more fun if you lower the difficulty, even if it means making the ai dumber. Ideally they'd let you make the ai keep all their smartness but allowing you to slow their movement speed and damage.
>>
>>720294674
IT would suffer for a week or two until their positions are filled by emergency jeets but that's about all
>>
>>720294674
Imageboards would collapse
>>
Top-down stealth is shit, the screen edges make it so your character cannot see past ~20 yards in any direction which is just stupid as hell.
>>
>>720295789
>It's also insanely punishing and getting caught just leaves to a slaughter of hundreds of guards. Literally a (you) problem. If you get caught, kill the fucker before he has a chance to alert his buddies or call in for back up if he's got a radio. Even if he does alert everyone, it's still possible to take a stealthy approach, find a place to lay low for a second as goons converge on the location you were spotted and then start moving once they've fanned out and started looking for you. Getting spotted doesn't necessarily mean it's the end of your stealth run, it just changes the dynamics. Instead of enemies going around on predetermined patrols you're evading enemies who are actively looking for you. Honestly I think that's one of the biggest strong points of the game. Getting spotted isn't inherently a bad thing since it doesn't mean a bad rating for mission or a game over, rather it's an opportunity to take a new albeit harder approach to the level.
Also there's ways you can set up contingencies to sow chaos and thin the enemies' numbers in advance if things get out of control. See a room with a bunch of guards just chilling in? Set up a claymore outside so the moment they go charging through the door if they hear gunfire they all get shredded with shrapnel and maybe some other goons redirect to investigate the explosion. Knock out lights in buildings or rooms that are out of sight of enemies' patrol routes to create ambush points. Turn off breaker boxes and set up claymores or taser mines near them so if goons try to turn them back on they get taken out (which much like with the first one might help redirect goons away from your location as they run to investigate). If you find yourself immediately overwhelmed the moment hits the fan, it's on you for not taking steps to ensure the enemy can't just overwhelm you.
>>
>>720291029
I have no idea what that means, or in whatever context it's used for now. It's just the only good stealth game to release since Splinter Cell Double Agent V2. If you're generous Kojima made a good game with Ground Zeroes, the Styx games were an admirable enough effort with its budget. Hitman is within a specific sub genre making it hard to pin down, similarly to how Commandos has it's own niche

We haven't gotten any light/shadow intensity meter and sound based meter REAL stealth games since a long ass time ago. It's good because it's the only thing that exists currently. Maybe someone will figure out Thief one day.
>>

>where as in Intravenous enemies react almost globally and you will aggro thirty guys over the smallest thing who are way overtuned
Skill issue. Different guns and rounds have different levels of volume. Just putting a supressor on your M4 isn't going to make it super quiet. If you want to be quieter you've got to load it with subsonic rounds. If you want to be even quieter take a lower caliber gun with a suppressor and subsonic rounds while being mindful of where you shoot from.
Also enemies don't react to every little thing globally. They react to different things in different ways. If they see an open door or a light that's turned off, they'll usually just run over real quick and close said door and turn said light back on before going back to their patrol (which is actually fun for some Batman style shit. Open a door along their patrol route and turn the light off and then kick the shit out of them when they run in to turn the light back on). If they see a broken window they might run off to grab a buddy to come search the building with them. It's only the big shit that'll result in every enemy on the map being alerted like hearing a gunshot or an enemy finding a dead body and running off to alert everyone (or calling said body in on their radio if they have one).
>>
>>720297415
this all sounds so nice and logical, but the truth is the second you're alerted the guards go apeshit and the entire map is flooded with guards and it stays chaotic forever.

New enemies don't spawn if you've alerted guards (the only exception being if you complete the objective after they've been alerted in which case some additional enemies will show up) so again, if you're getting overwhelmed when you're spotted that's on you. Should have hidden unconscious goons better, thinned out the enemies' ranks as you progressed through the level, and set some traps.

Good game, got it for free, thanks

Literally just git gud and stop being a dumb dumb about when and when not to go loud. If you've just been knocking dudes out and leaving them where other goons can easily find them and wake them up (protip: enemies can wake up their unconscious buddies) or sneaking past every enemy without even touching them, you're going to have a bad time if you've got to go loud. Less goons alive = less goons to respond if they hear a gunshot or find a body. It's not rocket science.

Also stay mobile if you go loud. If you've just blasted a dude with a shotgun or an assault rifle don't just sit there with your thumb up your ass until every goon within earshot runs in to investigate. Relocate my nigger. Find a spot to ambush dudes from whether it be a dark room, a shadowy corner, or a corner of a hallway, then relocate again. Flip breakers or hit the lights in buildings in strategic locations then use your nightvision to take dudes out Batman style while they're fumbling around in the dark looking for you. Again claymores are handy as shit too. Planted in key spots they can take out large chunks of the enemies' ranks the moment shit hits the fan and possibly even redirect enemies away from your position if you place them right.
Honestly going loud with a hit and run tactics is probably the most fun way to play the game.

I'm just more optimistic because I feel like at least one of these three games have the chance to turn out good. I'm not going in with the expectation that Thief VR will be shit, because I'm just open minded about how it will play as a stealth game. Three chances to get it right, surely someone will crack it. Just likely not with Gloomwood. And I'm told constantly that Serpens Eternal Thievery is not really in development because of Gloomwood.

It's been a while, but my go to was to shank guards with the knife for silent kills and the most quiet pistol with subsonic for longer kills. Since you're so insistent on that I'm retarded though I will give it one more go and really kill every guard I come across and also try the lower difficulty settings to see if I enjoy it more.
