In Japan I could literally walk like 5 feet to a train (Was literally attached to the alley of where I stayed) I could also turn left or right and end up at a konbini in the same amount of time. The train took me to everything I could need and it was super easily to just walk around all day enjoying the city. Back home I'm lucky enough to live less than a mile from the grocery store and gas station(and honestly a lot more I have prime real estate). Yet I still have to hop in my car, drive down the road and pull into the place because there's no sidewalk the second you leave my neighborhood. If I want to go to my local dive bar and walk home then I gotta drive 2mins there just to spend like 30 minutes walking home dangerously. Not to mention again, nothing is 24 hour anymore and Japan has that conveneince, Hell even in spain I was in a bar until 7am and 5am in Japan. You gotta stop drinking at like 130 in the US and they turn on the lights and shoo you out. It's gay as fuck nowadays.
