>a wireless mouse is now significantly faster than every wired mouse that exists

Wired mouse boomers will still insist on their museum piece though
>>
>significantly
>1ms
>>

>negative latency
huh
>>
>>720349923
>negative latency
It processes the input before you press it?
>>
I just don't trust it haha. You could tell me that it's faster than a wire but it's not, because I don't think so. Sorry
>>
>>720350095
>>720350108
Measuring absolute latency is more than a bit of a bitch so you just use relative latency to some benchmark peripheral.
>>
>>720350137
Sounds like an excuse a dirty chronomancer would come up with.

>Please note that the result given above only accounts for firmware-level latency. Physical latency, which describes the act of physically actuating the switch, is not accounted for, but that is precisely what is modified by enabling GX Speed Mode. Thus, in order to measure the difference between the GX Safe Mode/Off and GX Speed Mode settings, the end-to-end-latency function of LDAT has been employed, and the result is a relative difference of 1.45 ms. Relative to the measured click latency of 0.4 (0.36) ms, we thus arrive at a negative value of -1.1 ms, which of course is not a depiction of actual latency, but rather the result of mixing two sources of latency. In practice, however, the XM2w 4K will indeed be faster by the indicated amount compared to the other listed mice.
That's fucking weird. It's not actually relative, but they're trying to factor in the weird gimmicky switch actuation at the beginning of travel.

>Connection drops
Literally never happens. At least mention a real complaint like battery life (that's completely mitigated by plugging it in for ten minutes every other day).
>>
>>720351384
why would that not count?
>>
>>720351180
I have a Logitech G Pro and the cable sometimes drops connection when I swing it around, so wireless is better.
>>
>>720349923
that speed is unnecessary. I'll take a mouse that never runs out of battery instead.

*cable starts to break within 1 year due to repetitive fast movements*

Meanwhile in wireless world: infinite wireless power delivered by a mat under the mousepad. Checkmate, wired boomers.
>>
>>720352979
charging mouse pads are a solution looking for a problem
mice can have an incredibly tiny battery and work for weeks on one charge
>>
>>720353030
>mice can have an incredibly tiny battery and work for weeks on one charge
that really depends on:

1. how many hours a day you're using the mouse, and for what activity

2. what power-inefficient settings are enabled on the mouse - 8khz polling? static 20k sensor framerate like on some modern mice?

assuming the worst case scenario of those things (10+ hrs a day and highest performance settings) you'll be lucky to get a full day of usage without recharging. of course, with a 125hz office mouse and a AA battery, you can go a year without recharging.
>>
>>720351413
>constantly plugging and unplugging instead of just plugging it in once and never being bothered again is "mitigation"
>>
>>720353154
some retarded companies poisoned the well with putting in too small batteries to save money
its just a scenario where 5€ pricier battery = the mouse is actually usable while having leds and 1k polling
>>
>>720353206
it's really about weight saving, lightweight mice are shilled harder by influencers
>>
>>720353238
thats what they might hope the consumers believe but the reality of a mouse that needs charging every other day is obvious cost cutting
no consumer would shave off grams off weight if it meant constant recharging
>>
>>720353313
I probably would. I just charge overnight. What's the big deal?
>>
>>720349923
enjoy your brain tumor retard
>>
>>720350137
In other words, they made it the fuck up.
>>
I'm not going to replace the batteries, simple as.
>>
>>720349923
I can't stand replacing batteries in all my devices, sorry, I won't be swapping.
>>
>needs charging
nah
>>
>>720353753
why do that when you can charge once a week
>>
>>720354026
no retard

nobody is going to take a negative latency value seriously, what the fuck were these retards thinking?

average life span of a wired mouse is 3-5 years
average life span of a wireless one 4 to 8 months

lmao

???
in what way

post is so dumb it's actually confusing, do you think 2.4ghz radios burn up over time
>>

you know how often I have to charge my wired mouse?
lmao, idiot

Nothing makes me laugh quite as much as someone trying to argue "cable drag" is a real thing.

No, you just whiffed.

Cables suck man
>>
I've used 2 wireless mice for the last 8 years or so, and the thing that broke on them were the left and right mouse buttons.
I'm sure I'd experience the same thing on a wired mouse but I'd also have to deal with cable drag the entire time.
>>
>>720358818
i'm telling you man if my screen was 300hz instead of 240 i wouldn't have missed
>>
>>720350095
What, your mouse doesn't communicate at relative light speed? What, did you buy into some rinky dink quantum entangled Razor bullshit?
>>
>>720349923
Don't care if it got the worst benchmarks, this thing is rock fucking solid and the clicks feel great
Also has one of those ultra light weight cords so it's like it's not even there

I plug mine in like once every two weeks. The battery life is honestly a nothing burger.

Note my wired Deathadder V3 actually has the lowest latency on that chart, not counting the wireless mouse that moves before your hand does.
