Why does Naoki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy XIV and producer of Final Fantasy XVI, cry so often?

Nomura is just an artist. Toriyama is a weirdo but he worked on FF7 and FFX both of which are huge hits. You're just throwing blame at people who have nothing to do with company management because those are the only names you know.
>>
>>720362305
Nomura was the one who pushed Advent children which put Squaresoft so far in the red they had to merge with Enix. he's the lead graphicsfag at Square, and graphicsfaggotry has largely been the cause of Square's demise with how it balloons development times.

You know, on some level, I sympathize with him. The guy became the star of SE by being a mediocre business man. Mediocrity doesn't warrant being put on a pedestal, but when your colleagues are either self fellating auteurs that can't finish projects or actual retards, mediocrity looks like excellence.
>what? yoshida was able to get xiv: arr finished and released in a year?! it didn't go through 10 years of dev hell?! does he have batman levels of prep time and planning?!
>huh? yoshida made sure the team worked within the constraints of the hardware the game was advertised to run on?! who is this genius?!
So SE started heaping projects onto him thinking he was the golden goose. But he's just a salaryman that was given an impossible mission by his bosses.

>>

>>

Straight up no it doesn't even matter what they add, they still update with higher regularity than any MMO I've ever played, regardless of budget or studio. Almost all of Endwalker added nothing, but we don't hear about that very often.
>>

There are factors
>Naoki Yoshida is the "face" of Final Fantasy alongside Tetsuya Nomura, so people mentally ill about Square Enix as a larger corporation are going to be ill about Yoshida in the same way they were ill about Nomura in the '00s
>FFXIV is an MMO, which is going to naturally attract mentally ill hecklers and mentally ill fanboys alike
>FFXIV for a few years now I would argue has culturally dethroned World of Warcraft, a nexus of MMO mental illness and adding an east vs. west shitfest on top of it
It's more than one person, but this also means more than one person is obsessed
>>
>>720376961
SE already gets hate
XIV gets hated by other MMO players
XVI gets hate by turn-based anons and anons who don't like modern FF. Also gets hate by the resident XV lover
Yoshida is a focal point for a lot, and has some dedicated haters
>>
>>720376781

>>
>>720359989

>>
>>720377159
>The point is they're slacking off from how more tightly the ship used to run,
I really don't think this matters when not only does it still have the most reliable update schedule of any MMO I've ever experienced, but you're also actively encouraged to drop the game for long stretches if you're bored.
>>
>>720377267
Yes and no, but mostly no. When customers are conditioned to better service, they're going to expect it as baseline. Deviations from that are never well received, this isn't exclusive to XIV but every service offered ever. Just because others are worse doesn't absolve the fact that XIV's standards slipped. On top of that, encouraged dropping subscription isn't in good faith due to XIV's housing system. If you own a home you need a reason to stay subbed frequently, not play every day but you do need to return every 30-45 days
>>
>>720377515
>When customers are conditioned to better service, they're going to expect it as baseline. Deviations from that are never well received, this isn't exclusive to XIV but every service offered ever.
No skin off my ass; I just drop the game if I'm bored or I think it's taking too long.
>On top of that, encouraged dropping subscription isn't in good faith due to XIV's housing system.
This is a completely elective system and the vast majority of players do not have a house by definition of the system. They're barely a blip on the radar for subs. I highly doubt anybody at CS3 gives a shit if you let your sub lapse along with your house, it's not like it confers any kind of protected status. Take the gun away from your own head, it's not CS3 trying to shoot you.
>>
>>720376961
It's not ALL one guy, there are plenty of valid reasons to hate XIV, especially the last 4 years or so of patches. But a LOT of it is one guy. A few times he's been banned and half of the posts in the thread get deleted, literally hundreds of posts of him spamming tweets, reddit thread and samefag arguing with himself.
>>
>>720377678
Yes but you went from "how does this affect anybody?" to "well it doesn't affect me so it's not real" when I was simply explaining why what you said as a general statement is inaccurate. On top of that, Yoshida hasn't really encouraged players to take a break since SHB WoW exodus stuff. More recent interviews he says he wants there to be content that people keep coming back to regularly
>>
>>720361076
The Shareholders and Higher-ups. Sure, the woke shit is bad, but not reinvesting in their cash cow will be their downfall.
>>
>>720362015
I hate him for KH not having a proper ending. But his fantasy designs are fantastic. Tonberry is the best monster of all time.
>>
>>720366520
Yep. And people eat it up. I never trust anything he says.
>>
>>720377856
How DOES it affect anybody? It only affects people if they try to treat FFXIV like a forever game, a behavior it openly discourages and which it basically never has enough to do to warrant treating it as such. I power-grinded almost all Bozja relic weapons during Shadowbringers, but that was because I liked Bozja and Delubrum Reginae on top of the relics being relatively smooth to acquire. It isn't real, take breaks, delivering 4-6 hours of story content every 3-4 months is pretty nutty on any game development scale, let alone for the MMO genre that has a slippery update history at absolute most optimistic.
>Yoshida hasn't really encouraged players to take a break since SHB WoW exodus stuff.
Somewhere within the last five interviews I remember a "take a break" jargon point. It's also not incompatible with the idea of having things people actually want to do and having time spenders between patches, he is painfully aware there is a fair wait between patches and the game has a demographic that will NEVER unplug under any circumstances.
>>
>>720376662
>spent 2 years in hell trying to salvage 14

I would have cried too honestly. But yeah most of the other times it's just him being a bitch
>>
>>720376776
This is conveniently ignored. Even in this thread.
Schizos think the old “3 month” cycle was literally only 90 days. It was more.
>>
>>720376693
Nigga what. That was part of the “next 10 years of FF14” stream where they were explaining their future plans. No crying was involved. Go try to prove it. You can’t. Instead you’ll probably cherry pick something else to distract.

Investing into woke shit the year people got sick of woke shit is hilarious.
But Beyond that XIV's core issue is that its been doing the same thing for like 13 years now.
No matter how much SE employees cry otherwise on social media, this game's formulas got old, and they got old in Endwalker.
Now, people weren't aware of it at the time, the Endwalker MSQ did a well enough job hiding it from everyone.

Dawntrail came out and exposed it with its Dora the Explorer tier MSQ. Without the illusion of an immersive world, people lost investment. But the core issue remains the game has been like this for a long while.

Nomura is genuinely excellent when he does actual fantasy shit and doesn't touch multiverse/time travel stuff. If I remember correctly in some interviews they even said he wanted to stick closer to the original ff7 story and not have time janny bullshit but the other devs wanted it.
>>
>>720379620

Nothing will ever revitalize roulette content as long as the ILV sync continue to be so big of a flaw as it currently is.

Every content LV 70 and bellow gets massively powercrept, and even many content above it gets too. Just think of the first alliance raid of EW having it's last boss flagship mechanic never again been seen, because we do so much damage that even on a group with slacking players he stills dies before it.

I could go on and on but if you play roulettes you know how much of a joke almost every content in the game is because of massive powercreep.

What would help to revitalize roulettes would be to fix this issue.

Not that long ago, he was making these threads talking about how XIV is EoS and that there will be no more expansions... all because (in a year where no expansion was planned) SE said "there is no planned release date for the next expansion", which the shitposter misunderstood on purpose to mean "there will never be another XIV expansion.

>Nomura unironically did nothing wrong.
Nomura did the most wrong of any SE director.

Nomura started as a character designer, and that is where he excels and I have no real qualms with Nomura as a character designer. The issue is that he was given Kingdom Hearts, and that's when everything went downhill. Soon, the story of Kingdom Hearts began to make no fucking sense whatsoever, because Nomura mistakenly believes that "convolution" is the same as "deep". Kingdom Hearts is now so convoluted that even he can't keep track of everything and he literally watches YouTube essays about Kingdom Hearts to remind himself of what he has written.

Then there is the fatal misstep of giving him Versus XIII, which inadvertently spawned Barry. Nomura wasn't good enough to actually deliver Versus XIII, so Tabata had to take the scraps of Nomura's abortion and tape it together into the Frankenstein that we currently know as Final Fantasy XV. In the meantime, while Nomura was pretending to be a director and failing to deliver on the Versus XIII hype, we got nearly a fucking decade of Toriyama's waifu, Lightning, whom NO ONE liked. This was the real beginning of the end of Final Fantasy, and it was indirectly caused by Nomura's failure, which also spawned Barry. They shitted out 3 Lightning games because Nomura couldn't shit out Versus XIII. Then they gave it to Tabata, who shitted out XV.

AND THEN, as if Nomura didn't do enough damage already, they gave him Final Fantasy VII. I fucking know they thought "here Nomura, this is such a slam dunk layup that you could not POSSIBLY fuck it up", and do you know what Nomura did? He took that as a challenge. He said "[laughs] ...watch me" and he added Whispers to the mix and ruined the entire spirit of Final Fantasy VII by conflating the original Final Fantasy VII with the shit he had written since then like Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts.

Tetsuya Nomura has been killing Final Fantasy for the past nearly 20 years.

Stormblood made boss encounters easier after Alexander Savage was bullshit on the whole, replaced cross-class with role actions because everyone hated essential skills being locked behind specific classes and hated some classes having nothing to offer while some jobs reaped huge benefits with nothibg to return, gave the job gauge for mechanical clarity but forever doomed jobs to being builder-spenders in return

Shadowbringers onward is a distillation of what Stormblood brought and 8.0 will be the biggest shaking up SINCE Stormblood

Do you really believe the team has the resource and time to do that? When I see their reworks (which they then said it was small), I don't think 8.0 will have that much of an impact. They'd need to change how they design their encounters (and they seem particularly proud of what they did in DT), but they always played relatively safely with the upcoming content.
And changing things for that many jobs? I can't see it being more than being on the smaller side of the scale. Though, the more time (expacs) pass, the more difficult it will be to change the jobs with even more jobs to do.
I mean, I'd obviously loved it if they really changed the jobs, but I just can't see it.

Here I can leak the 8.0 Job shake up.
Instead of new skills for jobs, there are new skills per role that you can bring up to 3 of, here I have some of the ones in development for tank:

>Tanks Mastery II
Damage taken is reduced by an additional 5%, enmity generation is increased
>Enhanced Low Blow
The cool down of Low blow is reduced by 5 seconds, now works in AOE
>Enhanced Shirk
The cooldown of Shirk is reduced by 30 seconds

please look forward to it

I can see that you are woefully unknowledgeable about that which you speak. A key part of what made Alexander Savage "bullshit on the whole" is the fact that cooldowns did not reset between pulls.

>A key part of what made Alexander Savage "bullshit on the whole" is the fact that cooldowns did not reset between pulls.
No it wasn't. It just made you wait between pulls. Gordias and Midas were difficult because the mechanics themselves were demanding and very tightly tuned. Waiting on cooldowns was just an annoyance. Stop talking out of your ass and stop hallucinating arguments that weren't made.

>>720391085

as much as i want more job complexity, i hope their solution for that isnt just "add more cooldowns" because we have so much cooldown bloat already
>>
>>720391276
If you don't understand that waiting 5+ minutes between pulls makes things significantly harder than they actually are, in multiple ways, then you're retarded. Least of which is the fact that you can't pull as frequently or learn as quickly.
>>
>>720391463
The issue we have is that there are only 3 types of offensive cooldowns:
>use on cd, perfectly aligns with 2m
>build up/hold for 2m
>use to prevent overcap

You cant get complexity from quantity. If everything is press on CD to ensure 2m alignment then they're all going to feel the same.
>>
>>720391521
I was there. I know how it was. I know that waiting 30 seconds for my Perfect Balance to come back off cooldown was not what made the fights difficult. The longest cooldown to wait on was Hallowed Ground which wasn't used liberally as a planned cooldown the way it is now for that very reason. That's all. That has nothing to do with the mechanics being extremely demanding.
>>
>>720391705
>>Stormblood made boss encounters easier after Alexander Savage was bullshit on the whole
And the most inconvenient way was that cooldowns did not reset after pulls, greatly impeding progress and also group morale, a change that you are bemoaning as making the game too easy.
>>
>>720391908
No, retard. Stormblood just made savage fights much easier. Everyone cleared O1S on the first pull blind on launch morning. It wasn't because of cooldowns not resetting, it's because the fights were much easier.

>Role Skills
Role skills now change based on the job equipping them, providing the expected core functionality along with extra bonuses.
>Lucid Dreaming
BLM: Dream of Black - Xenoglossy and Foul trigger the casting of Scathe II, an OGCD that guarantees the next Fire spell will be a critical direct hit
SMN: Dream of Gods - Any summons called forth while under the effect provide a partywide buff specific to the summon. Multiple effects can stack. Example: Titan grants Stoneskin. Garuda grants a movement speed buff. Leviathan grants increased healing received.
RDM: Dream of Crimson - All damage inflicted on the enemy while the effect is active provides bonus mana of both types. The next Verraise costs no MP.
PCT: Dream of Stars - Starry Muse cast under the effect now provides a partywide shield. Any spells cast within the landscape trigger a partywide heal.
WHM: Dream of Saints - All healing effects cast under this effect have doubled potency.
SCH: Dream of Strategy - The cooldown of Expedience is reduced by one minute. Sacred Soils cast under this effect have no cost.
AST: Dream of Fortune - The effect of Wheel of Fortune while granted under this effect gives all affected party members a guaranteed critical direct hit buff for 10 seconds.
SGE: Dream of Genius - Addersgall and Addersting are both restored to full. The next Kerachole will grant partywide shields that will grant Addersting when broken.
>>
>>720394458
>Bloodbath
MNK: Bloody Claws - All attacks under this effect hit twice and auto attack time is reduced by half.
DRG: Bloody Lancet - All health restored grants an equivalent shield. The next Life Surge under this effect will double the potency of the affected weaponskill and give healing equivalent to half the damage dealt.
NIN: Bloody Shuriken - Fuma Shuriken and Hyosho Ranryu under this effect will inflict a potent 30 second DoT that restores health each time it deals damage.
SAM: Bloody Cleave - Iaijutsu cast under this effect will splash potent heals to nearby party members.
RPR: Bloody Reap - All attacks under this effect build stacks of blood. At 10 stacks, Harvest Moon charges for free. Stacks do not fall off between uses of Bloody Reap.
VPR: Bloody Trance - The Viper's gauge fills passively while this effect is active. Each attack lowers the cooldown of Serpent's Ire by 5 seconds.
>>
>Synergy Effects
PLD + DRK: Light and Darkness Cast Aloft - While in a party together, a PLD and DRK may freely and instantly swap places and aggro tables. All healing abilities have an increased effect on the DRK and all damage bonuses have an increased effect on the PLD.
PLD + DRG: Rage of Halone - When in a party with a DRG the PLD's Rage of Halone/Royal Authority inflicts a damage down effect on the enemy. DRG's Jump abilities now spray a healing breath around the landing point.
WAR + SCH: Hells or High Waters - All Adloquiums cast on the WAR will be guaranteed direct crits. Shake It Off will spread all Adlo effects to the party alongside a movement speed buff.
WAR + BLM: Mhachi Berserk - All fire elemental spells cast by the BLM reduce the cooldown on Berserk by two seconds. While Berserked, the WAR gains extra fire damage on every hit.
DRK + SMN: Sin of Mist - When summoning Fray, he will be joined by a mist dragon that deals extra damage and grants a pulsing heal to the party. The SMN's primals will be enhanced by the DRK's rage and deal significantly more damage with their ultimate skills. Bahamut becomes Bahamut Fury and Akh Morn is upgraded to Morn Afah.
GNB + AST: Time Compression - All self buffs cast by the GNB will have doubled timers. All buffs cast by the AST will have timers cut in half but doubled potency.
GNB + BLM: Sorceress Knight - All ice spells cast by the BLM will have the equivalent of an Astral Fire 3 potency buff on them. No Mercy's damage buff is doubled and Bloodfest has increased potency along with a guaranteed crit.
>>
WHM + BRD: Song of the Gods - Radiant Finale becomes Final Fantasia and instantly fills one bar of limit break in addition to its usual effects.
WHM + BLM: Twincast - If a BLM and WHM in the same party cast Holy and Flare within 5 seconds of each other, the abilities are replaced by Judgment and Meltdown. Judgment deals massive damage and heals the party based on damage dealt. Meltdown inflicts massive damage and a fire vulnerability up effect.
SCH + SMN: Efficient Arcanima - All SCH and SMN spells have reduced cast time and MP cost. All aetherflow stacks grant a bonus aetherflow stack upon use.
SGE + MCH: Hypertuned - Each cast of Dosis causes the MCH to pulse a healing effect from their lunchbox. Drill is increased in potency due to an aetherial sheathe woven by the SGE and inflicts a brief vuln up.
SGE + RDM: Masters of Magic - All spell potencies for the two jobs are increased. When RDM uses Fleche the attack is joined by SGE lasers that inflict an extra strike and pulse a heal around the target. When Contre Sixte is used it leaves a sigil on the ground where the enemy was hit. Casting Phlegma, Toxicon, or Pneuma within this ward will trigger an extra explosion of magic.
PLD + SGE: Mirror Shield - If the PLD is in Pneuma's line of fire, the effect will be triggered again a few seconds later. If the effect is triggered Pneuma's cooldown is reduced by one minute.
WAR + PLD: Stars of the Bloodsands - PLD's Provoke turns into Work the Crowd, it grants the party increased healing received and a shield. WAR's Provoke becomes Play the Heel, each time the WAR is struck under its effect the party receives a stacking damage up buff.
PLD + GNB: My Romantic Dream - Each time the PLD uses Royal Authority the GNB can use a free Blasting Zone. Circle of Scorn grants a free Bow Shock. Each block grants a Rough Divide. The PLD gains a passive defense up because he feels empowered by inspiring the GNB.

No, he was Zodiark's heart. He wasn't just a guy sitting in a seat. He was transmuted during the summoning process into the crystal heart of Zodiark. He WAS Zodiark. He's Zodiark Prime the same way you enter Bahamut's crystal heart in T13 and fight Bahamut Prime there. He is the central concept and will of Zodiark.

I legit cannot believe Square Enix lets it's employees act like this. What happened to professionalism? If I was a company I would require all employees to have private accounts and not engage with audiences and only post professionally online. Infact, that used to be the way things were in the 2009-2012 times. Everything changed around 2014 and ever since this lack of professionalism and extremist liberal bullshit political talk became normal especially amongst company representatives online. It clearly harms sales, it harms reputation, and above all else it harms the future prospects of the companies involved. If I was Square Enix I would not only fire her I would publicly fire her and give an hour long apology video about her behavior and apologize to the entire consumer base. They are constantly losing money and this bitch cant just quietly go away. They need to make a point and excommunicate her and all like her.

>He was Zodiark's pliot
Zodiark's heart. You're way too obsessed with the mech analogy. You notice how Fandaniel didn't become obsessed with salvation when he took over Zodiark's body? Because the empty shell left behind has no will, it's just power waiting to be directed. He literally says this to you before he jumps in, that Zodiark has no will without Elidibus. Because Elidibus is Zodiark.
>Zodiark was still operating without him
Zodiark was inert and just projecting the aetherial shield because he was set to do that. He wasn't actively doing anything because he had no will after Elidibus left.
>he's not Zodiark he's just its pilot
He is LITERALLY Zodiark. The same way Ardbert is still Ardbert even when he's not in his body. Elidibus is Zodiark's soul unseated from his body. You're too stupid to understand the mech analogy so just drop it. Zodiark is a Guardian Force, which involves the summoner completely giving up his form to be shaped into the primal. There was no summoning of Zodiark with Elidibus then hopping into the "pilot seat" or whatever. Elidibus physically gave up his being and was shaped into Zodiark. He is Zodiark.

I don't lust for Alphinaud at all, I think the people who want to insert him into any WoL/Alisaie ship are cringe as hell.

Whether you like Alisaie or not, it's pretty ironic you're posting a perfect example of the issue I was highlighting.

Minfilia, Ysayle, Lyse, Yugiri, Ryne, Venat and most recently Sphene. Everytime the story introduces a new, attractive female character, she's either killed off or put on the bus.

Meanwhile, male characters like G'raha get killed off and still have to come back to become permanent party members and even boring, non-characters like Erenville get to sick around. In Dawntrail, every single time Y'shtola and G'raha turned up, Y'shtola would immediately leave while G'raha stayed around to get more unique solo scenes with just him and the WoL.

It’s wild that the whole they/them pixies was really done in bad faith to normalize it.
It stuck out to me hard when I started ShB when every character just magically knew that “they/them” was the pronouns to use when everything prior never once did that. Even prior FF games, look at FF9 where that wasn’t even a concept for genderless beings, so “s/he” was used.
Koji designed the dragons in HW to be genderless and asexual and they still use he/she identifiers. (Actual interview in 2017, it just didn’t get explained to the player until post-EW in a random awkward way).

Again, you're way too hung up on the mech analogy. There was no point at which Zodiark existed and Elidibus climbed into the seat. Elidibus was unmade and his body and soul were transmuted into the heart of Zodiark. Other Ancient souls were used as fuel to shape the body of Zodiark around the heart. Zodiark then ripped his own heart out and shaped it back into Elidibus so he could act as mediator for the debates in Amaurot.
It is literally the same act as an Ascian leaving a body. It's the same thing as Ardbert killing himself so he can go to the Source and just be a bodiless soul. He's still Ardbert. And Elidibus can jump into his body and use it freely because it's empty. That's what Fandaniel did. Elidibus is not a "pilot", he's Zodiark. Fandaniel is a "pilot" jumping into a soulless Zodiark body. Elidibus is what makes Zodiark Zodiark. He's Zodiark Prime. The crystal heart of Zodiark that acts as his soul. Do you need me to hold your hand through this concept further? I can try to explain it like I would to a kindergartener.

> Other Ancient souls were used as fuel to shape the body of Zodiark around the heart. Zodiark then ripped his own heart out and shaped it back into Elidibus so he could act as mediator for the debates in Amaurot.
Which would only make sense if Elidibus was not actually Zodiark. Just the person in control of the construct. A pilot if you will.

>And Elidibus can jump into his body and use it freely because it's empty. That's what Fandaniel did

Are you retarded? Elidibus is dead by that point and his soul is in the Lifestream for her to manipulate. How does that prove me wrong?
>Which would only make sense if Elidibus was not actually Zodiark. Just the person in control of the construct.
No. The soul is the actual being of a person. Elidibus is Zodiark's soul. The other Ancients are the meat body the soul sits inside.
>Meaning yes, it's literally just a pilot seat, you acknowledge this.
Here, let me ask you a few simple questions:
Emet-Selch abandoned his body 12,000 years ago and has since been a soul jumping bodies as it suits him, and sometimes having no body at all. Is he still Emet-Selch?
Ardbert killed himself to unseat his soul from his body so he could travel to the Source. He then appears as a bodiless ghost throughout Shadowbringers. Is he still Ardbert? How about his body? Is it actually his corpse that's the real Ardbert?

Yes, Ardbert's body belongs to Ardbert, Elidibus is not Ardbert he's just controlling his body. Zodiark is a distinct entity from Elidibus too, made from the souls of millions of ancients.

They both ended up there. You don't understand how that technique works. A blade of light kills an Ascian by mimicking the effects the Lifestream has on a soul. What it does is force them into the aetherial sea by creating an artificial current to blast at them.
>He didn't die until he got drained by the CT completely...except unlike Venat he still ended up in the aetherial sea.
He was already dead in the CT, just not dissolved. The CT's battery is just a big lake of aether. You also don't know what the aetherial sea is. The aetherial sea, aka the Lifestream, is just the term used to refer to all the aether which comprises the world as a whole. It's the entire aetherial realm. It's not a special area of aether underground.
>Yes, Ardbert's body belongs to Ardbert, Elidibus is not Ardbert he's just controlling his body.
>Because you lack eyes with which to see Mount Tai.
Is Ardbert still Ardbert after leaving his body behind? Answer the question. You can't do it because you know you'll be further raping your own point.
>And Elidibus is Elidibus
Actually, he's Zodiark. Elidibus's soul was transmuted into the soul of Zodiark.

Nomura is of the same breed as Inafune: "glorified character designer".
Both of them were given many accolades simply for drawing some cool pictures. Their ego inflated and seniority gained, they, and those around them, mistakenly got the idea that they could do other things as well as they could draw characters.
Inafune ruined Mega Man by usurping the titular character with his own fan character Zero, and then went on to fuck up Mega Man Legends 3 and blame the company for his fuck ups.
Nomura, on the other hand, spent so long designing and redesigning 15's characters that the game was delayed for TEN YEARS and all they did was release and rerelease character renders for a vapourware game.

Trapping them in white auracite and then hitting them as hard as we can with aether doesn't send them to the aetherial sea, it straight up destroys the soul since souls too are made of aether.

Because your initial questions fundamentally misunderstood what pilot is and trying to sealion won't work on me. Ardbert is Ardbert this is not under any contention, Elidibus being Zodiark is and I'm arguing that they are two seperate beings hence me calling Elidibus a pilot.

>Trapping them in white auracite and then hitting them as hard as we can with aether doesn't send them to the aetherial sea
Yes, it does. The process mimics an aetherial current. All currents of aether are the aetherial sea. Before you try to argue, I preemptively raped you here >>720406750
>it straight up destroys the soul since souls too are made of aether.
It 'destroys' the soul in the same sense the Lifestream does, because that's what you do. You're just forcing the Ascian into the Lifestream.
>He wasn't dead until we used him to go to the past.
He was, his soul was just lingering and still being scrubbed clean by the Lifestream's processes that they drill into your head during EW.
>Because your initial questions fundamentally misunderstood what pilot is
It's funny because the pilot analogy you can't let go of was first introduced to this discussion to explain to retards like you how and why the Zodiark in EW is not actually Zodiark at all and is just an empty meat suit. Elidibus is never described as a 'pilot' in the game at all. He's not. He's the soul of Zodiark.
>Ardbert is Ardbert this is not under any contention
Good, you're understanding. What a good little bitch you are!
>Elidibus being Zodiark is and I'm arguing that they are two seperate beings
Well you can argue all you like, but the game and side stories and the lorebook are all very clear that Elidibus was transmuted into the soul of Zodiark, and the Elidibus you see before you is the soul of Zodiark that shaped itself into a familiar face to aid in his duty of reconciling the two factions. Eat shit, stupid faggot.

Your lore snippet literally only explains how aether works within the concept of the conservation of energy not how destroying a soul suddenly ends with that soul entact within the aetherial sea where souls get reincarnated.

No. he was trapped in the crystal tower and getting sapped to fuel the thing he wasn't completely dead until you go to the past https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05Dsij325HI

>Your lore snippet literally only explains how aether works within the concept of the conservation of energy not how destroying a soul suddenly ends with that soul entact within the aetherial sea where souls get reincarnated.
My lore snippet was to explain to you that the aetherial sea, the aetherial realm, and the Lifestream are all synonyms used to refer to all the planet's aether as a whole. The blade of light just creates a huge artificial current of aether which forces the Ascian into the Lifestream. The soul is not obliterated, you're just forcing a state of death onto the Ascian.
>They are not the same entity. This is even acknowledged in game.
It is acknowledged in the game, in the opposite sense you're arguing. The Elidibus you deal with throughout the game is the heart of Zodiark which unseated itself and took on the shape of Elidibus. The original Elidibus, the Themis you meet in Pandaemonium, sacrificed himself to become the heart. He was transmuted. He's not a guy jumping in and out of a pilot's seat. You are beyond obsessed with this analogy that does not apply. Elidibus never 'entered' a pilot seat. He died and his body and soul were restructured into Zodiark's heart. The heart was then removed and took on the appearance of Elidibus. This left an empty spot in the Zodiark body for Fandaniel to occupy the same way an empty corpse allows an Ascian to occupy it.
>>
>>720408629
>The Elidibus you deal with throughout the game is the heart of Zodiark which unseated itself and took on the shape of Elidibus. They are the same person, that's why Elidibus remembers you in Elpis, the only time you ever met Elidibus in Elpis was during the Pandaemonium raids which is further acknowledged during the ending of the raid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHIqfMV-IxY
Elidibus is not Zodiark nor was he ever, he was merely the pilot. This is said in the game.
>>
>>720408615
I can only imagine it's because she's doing it and feels safe because a lot of people in CS3 and the community team at Square Enix agree with her, I mean they have a Californian identity politics professor on their Board of Directors with the name Tracey Fullerton, hired in June 2024, who could be backing up Kate.
Or it could be a language barrier because most Japs don't use English speaking social media not least of which Bluesky so just think if people complain about her it's "stupid Gaijin who cares".
Or could also be their complaints department has to go through people she is familiar with because it would have to be translated from English into Japanese for Japs to read it and the translators might simply not pass on the complaints effectively acting as a block so Kate is completely safe.
>>
>>720408838
>They are the same person
Yes and no. The true Elidibus's soul is there, but reshaped into the heart of Zodiark. It is Elidibus, and it is also not Elidibus because it has been transmuted into something else.
>that's why Elidibus remembers you in Elpis
Everything about Elidibus's soul is still there. It is simply reshaped. He is Elidibus, and he is Zodiark's heart. He is not a pilot, he is the soul of Elidibus reshaped into a crystal heart of a primal which then takes on the appearance of Elidibus.
>Elidibus is not Zodiark nor was he ever, he was merely the pilot. This is said in the game.

You haven't you've merely tried to argue that Elidibus and Zodiark are the same but somehow also not the same simultaneously even though a clear distinction is made.
>If your next post does not include a screencap of the game saying Elidibus is not Zodiark, you concede.

>game outright states that they destroy ascian souls when hitting them with fat amounts of aether
It kills the soul, it doesn't obliterate it and remove it from existence.
>Elidibus outright states that Zodiark is a seperate entity
The Elidibus in your screenshot has already been killed and is no longer the heart of Zodiark.
>Themis/Elidibus shows that he is in fact himself and not a Zodiark tulpa
Who's talking about a Zodiark tulpa? Do you even know what you're talking about?
>Crystal Heart out of nowhere when its established in EW that the giant crystals are in fact just random masses of aether
Looks like you need to do Binding Coil. All primals have a crystal heart at their core. That's where the 'Prime' entity is. Which Elidibus is for Zodiark.
>You haven't you've merely tried to argue that Elidibus and Zodiark are the same but somehow also not the same simultaneously
This really isn't complicated. Ready, little baby? Pay close attention:
Elidibus dies and his soul is restructured to become the heart of Zodiark.
The heart of Zodiark removes itself from Zodiark.
The heart of Zodiark takes on the appearance of Elidibus.
This heart of Zodiark, which takes on the appearance of Elidibus, is the 'Elidibus' you see throughout the game up until you kill it in 5.3

Was that simplified enough for you, illiterate nigger?

It's the actual Elidibus/Themis because Elidibus/Themsis makes it clear as he was pulled from the memories of Elidibus' soul and Elidibus remembers your time together doing the Pandaemonium raids.

Because Venat very explicitly burned out her soul completely. She did not get sent to the Lifestream. The primal Hydaelyn consumed the entire thing down to its last mote.
