I'M NOT TURNING VYSNC OFFI AM VSYNC O'TOOLE
>>720430630Hey, turn that Vsync off!
>>720430630HEY, TURN THAT VYSNC OFF
Is it true that only trannies hate v-sync?
>>720430751Yeah that's right ON OPPOSITE DAY BITCH
you wouldn't TURN OFF a vsync right?
you have to be a nigger to be ok with having vsync off, niggers aren't bothered by disconcerting things like jarring frame stuttering and smoke alarm low battery alert chirping
I don't understand whatever joke or reference is being made. If you don't want to turn V-Sync off, then fucking don't?
>>720430848Clueless retard, why even say anything if you know you don't get the joke?
>>720430823They are also not smart enough to have both vsync off and no screen tearing. Are you one of THEM, Anonymous?
>>720431006>WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU UNDERSTAND DON'T MY RETARDED REFERENCES TO JEWISH CARTOONS?!>THREADS ABOUT JEWISH CARTOONS BELONG ON /V/ - VIDEO GAMES BECAUSE... BECAUSE... THEY JUST DO, OKAY???
>>720430630I just don't get it.>V-sync off, framerate capped at 144>screen tears all the time>V-sync on, framerate cap disabled>no screen tears, don't feel the "input delay"
I turn vsync off and have never had screen tearing
>>720431232>V-sync on, framerate cap disabledbut vsync is a frame cap
>>720430787Wait, is it Opposite Day or dramatic music sting day?
>>720430630Sneakers O'Toole first appeared in Family Guy Season 5, Episode 15 titled “Boys Do Cry,” which aired on April 29, 2007. The character is introduced in a classic Family Guy cutaway gag—a non-sequitur scene inserted to illustrate a joke made by one of the main characters. In this case, Brian Griffin says that getting religious tolerance in Texas is as hard as getting Sneakers O'Toole to take off his shoes. The cutaway shows a man named Sneakers O'Toole strutting down the street, singing: “I’m not taking my sneakers off, I am Sneakers O’Toole!”Two men confront him and demand he remove his sneakers. He refuses, runs away, and one of the men says: “Ah, let him go. We’ll never catch him, not in these shoes.”The scene ends with O'Toole triumphantly singing again: “I didn’t take my sneakers off, I’m still Sneakers O’Toole!”Meme Evolution: From Obscurity to Cult StatusEarly Internet Circulation (2011–2019)The clip was uploaded to YouTube in 2011, but it didn’t gain traction until 2019 when YouTuber SynthCool posted a parody video titled Anime Character Analysis: Sneakers O'Toole. This ironic deep-dive treated the character as if he were a complex anime protagonist, kickstarting the meme’s ironic appreciationTwitter Gimmick Account (2021)In 2021, a Twitter account called @SneakersEvery21 began posting the clip daily. The account gained over 11,000 followers before being deleted, but it helped cement Sneakers O'Toole as a recurring joke in niche meme circles.TikTok Resurgence (2025)The meme saw a major revival in 2025 thanks to TikTok, where users began remixing the clip using crude rotoscoping and AI-generated animations. These edits often inserted Sneakers O'Toole into surreal scenarios or mashed him up with other meme formats like Adrian Eeffoc Brainrot. The character became a kind of “exploitable template,” where creators could insert new dialogue or characters into the original scene.
>>720430630>old days>v-sync off all the time with no issues>nowadays>v-sync off means tearing like a japanese manga chickThe fuck happened.
I don't get the issue with v-sync. Fixes my screen tearing, and I don't feel any noticeable input lag in the slightest.
>>720432747you dont actually want more than 60 fps
Imagine not having a VRR monitor in 2025
>>720431227>I don't understand the joke so I'm going to pretend to be retarded on the internet>How dare you treat me like a retard Shut up, Meg.
>>720432178NEITHER
I feel like i need a visual picture of what v-sync is cause i still dont understand what it is exactly
>>720430630V-Sync on globally nowV-Sync off in-game later
>>720430630>start a sneakers o toole bit>don't continue it after anons reply
>>720433857It's the computer literally telling the GPU to wait before it can present frames to the monitor. It syncs the present rate to the refresh rate of your display. Without it then the GPU can present as many frames as it wants unless there is some sort of external limiter like a fps cap or bottleneck.
>>720432916If you cap your fps slightly under then you get the benefits of Vsync without the downsides. That's what reflex does automatically
>>720433979Not to be frustrating but even after reading your post i still don't understand. So it keep too many frames from being presented causing a blurry mess?
>>720434085Every image you see on your screen is a frame, multiple of them actually. How many frames you have is your framerate. How many frames your display can handle is your refresh rate. Vsync tells the GPU to not show more frames than what your monitor can handle. If you tell it not to use Vsync then the frames get out of sync with the display itself. You will notice it as screen tearing or coil whine.
>>720432747so I'm not crazywhy does this shit happen all the time now
>>720434085Digital Foundry has this + a VRR video that are very good at explaining it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seyAzw9zEoY
>>720434386>>720432747Do you guys only play DX11 games? Because DX12/Vulkan made everything borderless and Windows borderless applies Vsync to the dwm.
>>720431232V-sync is capped at 60 frames, genius.
>>720431232That's why you cap your frame rate a few frames below your monitors refresh rate and disable v-sync. No screen tearing, no v-sync input lag.
>>720434515then you get skipped frames or doubled frames
>>720432747It's the opposite for me, I used to get screen tearing all the time but now I never get it even in true fullscreen games though >>720434447 is probably to thank/blame for most of the absence
>>720430630I turn vsync off purely out of habit on every game I play and I don't think I've ever even seen a screen tear. I think you guys are just making it up.
vsync is completely obsolete. if you have a VRR monitor, just use VRR. if you don't, use rivatuner's scanline sync.
