Gearbox did impromtu marketing campaigns on /v/ back in early 2009. They would post this image at the start of a thread alongside text like “have you preordered/v/“? And there would be around 5-10 of these threads up at one time. Troll threads would come up with the same image, but it’s weird being the only one that remembers it, I can’t find any archives of it anywhere

I can kind of forgive them embezzling money from Sega to spam the catalog since Borderlands 1 and it's DLC is really good.What I don't forgive is that the series has progressively gotten worse since the first one, and now, they've allegedly backported their spyware shit with SHIFT accounts to the first game.
