Once you get to about mid game even on the actual hardest "New Game +" difficulty, it's still extremely easy. Very good and very fun game though.

The game was a lot of fun. It was too easy, but I enjoyed setting up cool team comps and broken combos. The difficulty is, sadly, one of the major issues that really stops the game from being like an actual 9.5/10It is so easy, even on the hardest difficulty, that one group of cavalry can pretty easily clean up like 90% of missions, and that isn't some cheesy broken strategy. The game basically tells you to use the cavalry together because of their obvious synergy and even the fact that they literally all know one another and are friends or their mentor. It would be like if you had a game where a husband and wife were super strong together, of course you'd use them.But it was still overall a really unique battling system that I want to see them expand in a new game. They'll probably never make a sequel, but I hope they basically take the gameplay style and just add more to it. More units, more spells, more equipment, more abilities, harder difficulty, more optional challenges, etc. I still recommend the game if you have not played it.Also port it to PC, what the fuck. I played the game on my Switch and I would have liked art in a higher resolution.
