I recently replayed the original FF7, so I decided to also replay FF7 Remake.Everyone talks about the time jannies and so on but, man not enough is said how the Remake completely butchered the art direction.Gone is the worn steam punk look of the original. Everything has been technologically modernized, it feels like FF7 set 30 years in the future now all of a sudden we have touch screens and iphones.Worst of all is how the game doesn't seem to have a cohesive look. The starting cutscene has kids riding bicycles in what I would say is very 1920-1930s esque clothing. Then see Aerith walking around people dressed in very modern clothing, Then we jump to our crew which again looks otherwordly in comparison, after blowing up the reactor(or better said after Shinra blows it up....) we are running around npc that are all of a sudden dressed in very 1950s esque clothing and again our cast sticks out like sore thumbs.

I'm glad since I've been playing them on PC. I like the remake series even if the story is completely retarded and irredeemable. Problem is that Rebirth covered the segment of FF7 that was always my favorite part of the game (leaving Midgar to Aerith's death). The WEAPONS and the actual game twist are the highlights of disc 2 which part 3 would be covering, but the twist is basically completely butchered by now with Hojo spoiling it and they already had Tifa swimming through the lifestream.
