I've always found it funny that the anime dropped the ball with SF1's plot only to make a better version of SF2 with only 13 episodes. Vega sending Geo on missions around the world is a much better excuse to have a globe trotting adventure than "Oh no my friends all got sucked to different sides of the planet!".
