I only ever liked HM65/Mineral Town. I tried one of the 3DS(?) games, but there was this weird thing where at a certain time of day, a vendor comes in a locks you in a cutscene EVERY DAY. Most people will finish RF games in 40-60 hours, but you can easily go into the hundreds. The things people bitch the most about is the introduction of a FMC in Oceans/RF4 which halved the bachelorettes roster in half to give space to male options, and a half assed same sex relationship mechanic in RF5 that did more bad than good due to how hastily it was implemented. RF was never an ecchi series, the complaints are mostly due to Marvelous deciding to give a bigger focus to the female player base in latter games.
