>Please... my wife. She is very sick

Far Cry 2 walked kind of awkwardly with a bum leg so that Metro Exodus like 10 years later could walk slightly differently but still poorly and at a similar pace.
Discuss the alternate timeline where games are interesting instead of the Ubislop we all ended up with.

Imagine a timeline where STALKER's DNA infected every major FPS-from the jungle fires of Far Cry 2 to Metro's frozen train tracks, and instead of chasing minimap icons and grinding for XP, we got games that forced us to read maps, manage resources, and *feel* the weight of every skirmish. No towers, no item vomit, just rusted AKs jamming in the middle of a firefight while malaria eats away at your stamina and an enemy outpost burns behind you.

Ubisoft would have evolved into a studio known for immersive sims, and instead of Watch Dogs 4 we’d have *Wi-Fi Wars: Surveillance Truths*, a grimy, Neon-lit hacking immersive sim with a deep conspiracy about smart toasters.

Meanwhile EA folds in on itself after Battlefield becomes a single-player psychological horror about PTSD set in a semi-realistic warzone that never ends. And Todd Howard finally gets to release Starfield… but it’s a permadeath game with no UI and the manual is 300 pages long.

That sounds terrible. I want a variety of different games even if some turn out bad than a single design to dominate the scene.
>>
>>720617315
holy shit this is sovl
do I have to play the other metro games first? and does she hug you often or is that webm everything?
>>
>>720620441
Exodus is the only one with a cute wife
she also goes topless at one point
>>
>>720620545
Cool but it seems like hugs are set number and scripted only
>>
>>720620441
the story in these games makes no sense at all and the MC is a forrest gump of the soviet union, you just go from one place to another and things magically happen
exodus is 70% walking through an empty pseudo open world map and the other two are 70% cutscenes
just watch anna scenes on youtube if you're that sort of person
>>
>>720620792
but I like survival horror too I still wont like metro?
>>
>>720620947
it's more like half life 2 but with less player control
>>
>>720621012
eh half life 2 is fun so I am convinced
>>
>>720620441
If you wanna play it for Anna you should at least play Metro:Last Light first since she's first introduced in that game and builds a relationship with Artyom in it.

>holy shit this is sovl

Straight men are so pathetic lmao.
>>
>>720621172
In last light she is kind of a bitch to you, then you fucked and in exodus she is a sweet wife all of a sudden

People will always say you have to play them in order, but I think they're retards. They act like the story doesn't make sense and you'll have no idea what's going on, but it's pretty straightforward. There would have to be something wrong with you if you couldn't catch up while just playing Exodus, even if it *might* be better to play them in order.

>Does she hug you often or is that webm everything
I think it MIGHT be every actual hug? But it's not including the part where you can press D to caress your cute wife while she exposition dumps for 5 minutes while laying on your lap.
There is a lack of doing actual missions together with her though.

Ironic you say that and post Metro: Ubisoft Edition as a counterpoint to that?
>>
>>720620441
1 and 2 are still way better than exodus
Exodus is good but a bad metro game
>>
>>720622249
I can understand not liking the direction that Exodus took, but it's openworld design is like the antithesis of Ubisoft's
>>

I'll admit that it's not as offensive as Ubisofts, but Volga and Caspian are pretty guilty of "giant empty space with nothing of interest taking up 80% of the map" though Volga less so, since that feels more like a hub area from STALKER.
>>
>>720620441
Apart from cameo's in the bad ending only two characters from the previous game carry over to exodus so you're not missing out on much storywise, 2033 and last light are solid games though.
>>
Before 2010 was a magical time when big devs were still willing to try weird stuff. We'll never see it again. If you want another Far Cry 2, you will only get it in the form of a 2d indie platformer if you want it to be even remotely unique.

That game had a cute romance, I will admit.
