>>720626396Buy an Xacto or a thin painters knife, blast them with a little bit of heat to loosen up the glue holding them down and cut. If I remember right, the CPU us glued in a U shape and you only have to cut about 1/8th inch thick, so there's very little room to fuck up if you're not retarded. The harder one is the one where it's glued on 4 corners, because it's about a cm deep on all 4 corners. It's not really that hard if you know what you're doing, but if you don't, watch a few videos, and really take your time on it, don't rip anything upwards and don't dig the tip of the knife down into the chip. Keep it perfectly flat. Also most Slim PS3s are old enough now to need new paste.

Just apply new paste, and set the heatsinks back in place, and be careful not to move them when reassembling. I actually didn't know there was a specific tool for doing that.
