What were they thinking?? This is the crest i was the most excited for and they ruined it>no blue slots which inherently cripples it out of so many fun and powerful things >most risky heal except its capped at 3 for some god forsaken reason, damage bonus has less uptime than evolved hunter and shouldnt net you more than witch heal>its only real redeeming quality in theory is faster attack speed except the base moveset is slower at pogos and not faster than dash->pogo->slash burst against grounded enemies>absolutely miserable for platforming challengesthis shit has ZERO real redeeming qualities!!
It's capped, but you still regain hearts until the cap, so you can facetank stuff while the heal is up, regaining a lot of silk at the same time, so you can have it on almost the entire time if you play it right.Personally I don't jive with it either, though.
>>720677421this hypothetical benefit (that gets massively shafted by double damage) just seems completely outweighted by not having the blue tools that can help you with that goal. it would be better if the enraged state made hornet uninterruptible but you can still lose 1/3 your rage time by taking damage and being on the animation (which in turn reduces your damage compared to something like well played hunter or architect charge)
Architect meanwhile to me shows the design flaws of the game.>balanced moveset>balanced trinket set>allows to properly deal damage without having to wait for opening everytimeThis allows me to really gauge if a challenge is bullshit: if I would die by not spamming tools but would win by spamming tools it means the challenge is bullshit, it means the difficulty is artificial.Simple as that, if you designed the game properly I shouldn't be able to cruise away tossing cogbugs, tri-daggers and gauss-silkshots and yet struggle with a triple upgraded needle.Same goes with the double jump really, I actively try to do platforming with and without double jump and it shows how tedious everything is and how double jump just allows you most often to avoid the tedium. And that's what it comes down to me: Silksong isn't hard, it just can be real tedious at times.
>>720676831It's good if you know how to use it, not everyone knows to play aggressively, this crest carried me through many bosses and gauntlets even in act 1Then when you get the vesticrest it becomes great
>>720678526architect is inconsistentyou can absolutely burst down faggots by spamming subweapons but it only works on certain bosses, for others it's not going to do shit and you'll need to beat them legit
>>720678734everything is 'good if you know how to use it', evverything else just has higher returns>>720678932architect has a very nice moveset overall despite no silk skillsone of the best (if not the best) nail arts, charge attacks on pogo and dash attack, hunter moveset>>720678526'balanced moveset' is a stretch, its the only one that gets to have charged attacks and it has by far one of the best nail arts
the problem is unlike the original HK, many of the charms are dogshit for some reason. There are a few good ones for each color so this makes not having one of them (late game vesticrest aside) a big handicap.
>>720678526>If I would die without cheats but not die with cheats it means the difficulty is artificialwhat
>>720679163>everything else just has higher returnsno it doesn't, there's many situations where this cres is perfect, you just are bad with it nigger people couldn't play briar when it released too, and the champ was completely broken
>>720679374The charm system in the original game was better.
>>720679163>architect has a very nice moveset overall despite no silk skillsArchitect has a nice moveset because it has no silk skills, them vying with heals for charge is retarded and just means you're better off not using them unless you've already mastered the game.
>>720679738I don't mind the system in silksong, my bigger problem is that a lot of the charms suck. Also needing a dedicated slot for the compass is still shitty
>>720679605if you play "perfectly" your gayass crest gets completely mogged by hunters' damage boost AND blue tools. How do you justify having all your hypothetical damage increases in exchange of a harder playstyle be completely outweighted by something that will always apply, no matter the fight, and you dont have to work for?>>720679805the heals for charge is a non issueyou have enough tools before charge to destroy almost anything with 3 slots. If youre actually in a situation where youre spending the heal for retooling, theres a 99.99% chance youre destroying the boss so hard you dont care about these tiny masks. Even if you did you can destroy the game with lifeblood
>>720679905>Also needing a dedicated slot for the compass is still shittyI agree but for bosses this doesn't really matter since you know where to go and during exploration this one slot doesn't seem essential.
>>720680152>the heals for charge is a non issue>you have enough tools before charge to destroy almost anything with 3 slots. If youre actually in a situation where youre spending the heal for retooling, theres a 99.99% chance youre destroying the boss so hard you dont care about these tiny masks. Even if you did you can destroy the game with lifebloodLiterally what the fuck are you talking about? I'm talking about silk skills and healing using the same resource, not tools.
>>720680971i missread your posti dont agree with the silk skills thing, some of them can make it much safer to deal huge quantities of damage, with 3 hearts you naturally regen almost all the silk you need for a silk skillits not like in HK1, this time around the silk skill is much cheaper than the heal. The parry in particular can be really great for avoiding damage while still dealing some nice damagenormal enemy spawns is a great example too. makes one really wish to land a good sharpdart, silk storm or parry
