Dark Fall: The Journal and its sequels are pretty underrated if you want some real atmosphere and unsettling vibes without relying too much on cheap jumpscares. Also check out The Cat Lady and Downfall (Remake) by Harvester Games-great storytelling, gritty art style, and genuinely disturbing themes. If you want something more classic, Sanitarium still holds up surprisingly well.

Not OP but maybe this is the year I'll play some Dark Fall. I was also thinking about doing some sorta horror point and click in October and I was leaning toward Harvester but I have heard a lot of good about Dark Fall, and the lack of jumpscares is a nice plus. Was also thinking I should finally play the Freddy Pizzabear games sinceI heard apparently only the third or fourth one made to crank the volume to hear shit so they could then earrape you with jumpscares which I thought the whole series supposedly did

Not so much "horror" as it is a creepy atmosphere, but if you're looking for a point & click game I'd recommend Yesterday ie New York Crimes. Great game by a great developer.
