Galaxy and Galaxy 2 are good. My favorite is still Mario 64, but I decided to go back and replay the first one and try the second one. These two now occupy the 2nd and 3rd place spots (I think Galaxy 2 is actually better than the first one).

Galaxy > Galaxy 2 > 3D World + Bowser's Fury > Sunshine > 64 > Odyssey > 3D Land

$70 is still fucking ridiculous though.

I may not agree with that list, but I agree with your last statement. Which is exactly why I just decided to play the Wii versions.

Why Galaxy so high? Curious

It just speaks to me the most. I acknowledge Galaxy 2 is more mechanically varied, but I enjoy the overall atmosphere in Galaxy 1's levels more. If you mean Galaxy in general, I've always preferred more linear platforming games over the sprawling collectathon style ones. I don't mind that Mario's moveset is more limited because the level design makes up for it.

Agreed, i played Galaxy 2 first but i like the atmosphere of 1 more

I never got into 2. I played the SHIT out of 1, and I think my burnout lasted through the sequel's relevance.
