What game has the most fucked up physics?
>>720697973wtf this is the power of godot?
>>720697973SOUL
>>720697973>rollercoaster tycoon>certain coasters gain speed during corkscrews instead of losing ita weird oversight considering how well put together the rest of the physics are.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyj1ZZiseDEbetter video, especially towards the end
isnt it crazy how game devs have like the powers of god and like they're able to make their own physics n shit nigga
Skate 4's definitely got its share of physics jank.

I love janky physics.I love spaghettification.I love unexplained warp speed.I know it's not realistic. I know it breaks immersion and blahblah. Yeah yeah. I just love it every time my character gets turned inside out because of some kind rogue -1 or stack overflow or runaway physics calculation. It never fails to make me smile like the dumb, easily amused kid I am.
>>720698457>HELLO IT'S SC-
>>720698035if only it were that simplethat webm is meant to be a simulation of what physics is like in Greg Egan's Dichronauts, an autistic novel about a universe where one of the space dimensions is instead a time dimension, and you have to always go forward because turning around will 100% fuck you up and stretch you out, like at the end of that webm
>>720702765that book is a wonder, i've heard. what an abysmal hell for the inhabitants of that reality to have the shittiest privacy ever because they have to live with their worm friend in their brain that allows them to move sideways and they can't make permanent settlements because they'll get frozen in time if they settle too long enough
>>720699767As is tradition for that series
>>720702765I gave Dichronauts a try because it sounded so fascinating but couldn't quite wrap my head around how shit works. Need to give it another try. Any other books (or games) that take place in an alternative dimension/with different physics?
>>720697973any skating game
>>720707626Although I can't really think of any games that actually DOES have weird physics because of the laws of physics being slightly off, I can point to FEZ and Super Paper Mario being somewhat close to whatever movement suffering a creature has to go through because the universe they usually live in lacks a dimension, even though they're still 3D with 1 time dimension kinda
>>720697973>The physics demon infects everything it touchesSpooky
>>720698457I took >>720701078's advice and skimmed through the video, that game concept is great and I bet a toned-down version of this would work as a speed effect in a Flash game
>>720697973this is what Btards will want you to believe
>>720698956>Tfw the demiurge failed calculus and my body turns inside outFeels bad man
>>720698457when he started moving left and right without moving the mouse, that actually gave me a bit of motion sickness. fucking awesome.
>>720707293The stuff I've seen and done in Skate 4 is on a whole other level of jank compared to Skate 1-3. Least this entry has more opportunities to patch some of the more egregious ones like this, since it's a live service game.
>>720710382Flat earthers BTFO.
>>720710382>I must go, my people need me
>>720697973Why would you ever code your game/engine to do this? Are coders really this incompetent?Just code it correctly the first time and you dont get bugs, its not magic.

>>720697973Battlefield2042, the maps are still made of rubber and pretty much bit of physics is hardcoded, from projectiles, to vehicle movement, to wingsuits etc. -- that's why, for example, you can't use c4 to catapult things and why the hovercraft could climb anything.
I wish there was a Dichronauts game, or even any visual media, because I really want to get an idea how the living things on it, abd the world surface, looks like.
>>720707626>Any other books (or games) that take place in an alternative dimension/with different physics?I also would like to know. But if you like the idea of "you can't move back because something bad will happen", I think its worth mentioning Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness, where moving upwards too much can kill you.
>>720707626 If you dig the whole “physics, but wrong” concept, you gotta check out Charles Stross’ "The Eschaton" series-especially Accelerando and Singularity Sky. It's not quite as alien as Dichronauts, but it slaps you with a warped reality where causality and post-singularity tech basically rewrite the rulebook. For games, Antichamber is probably the closest vibe-architecture that defies Euclidean geometry, doors that only open when you're not looking, that kinda psychological slapstick. Also, Manifold Garden is basically Escher on edibles. Not as heavy on lore, but it nails that "different universe rules" aesthetic hard.
>>720710713cancer video editing
>>720707626Not quite alien. But the tech demo/library for A Slower Speed of Light is pretty fucky. Things bend, colours warp and things eventually disappear when moving away from them. A shame no one seems to have used it in their own project since.
