mmos seem so daunting to get into because no regular people play them. it's either world of warcrafty communities where everyone is a literal bot npc that never interacts with you or an old school mmo where you're expected to know everything and have some ordained role and not fuck it up

Can't speak for all of them, but Wizard101 is still going strong, the devs are currently working on bringing it to gaming consoles, and we're finally getting the long awaited Darkmoor as a full on world.
Also, where would Wiz land on that ranking?
