I'm playing this for the first time.
I went with the snes version on my switch 2.
>>
Ok.
>>
>>720700752
I just beat the first dungeon and got the pendant of courage.
When does this game get good?
>>
do you want an award for being a retard and paying to rent a rom or something?
>>
>>720700909
After the third.
>>
>>720700909
Immediately afterwards when you go back to Shaharalahaha and get the Pegasus Boots.
>>
>>720701037
got the boots and the ice rod
now i need to find the other two pendants i guess
>>
i hate how there is no way to turn off the rewind function on NSO
just knowing the option is there makes me feel compelled to use it at any mistake
>>
Pendant of Power GET
this fight was actually hard as fuck
>>
>>720703731
I see someone looked up a guide.
>>
>>720704557
nah I just went in one direction found some wise man in a cave and he told me to get a book
went back toward town and found the book house grabbed it and went back then used it to open the gate

right now im looking for the pendant of wisdom, i have no idea where to go though

No doubt. People really need to understand that using save states to undo mistakes really takes away from the difficulty in any given game which in turn ruins the experience. Making mistakes and learning to avoid them results in increased knowledge and mastery and makes the player feel a lot more competent which is satisfying. I used and abused saves and used a guide for every step on an NES Zelda 1 playthrough a few years back and it was the biggest waste of time when it was all said and done

look at your map
>>
>>720704862
ok there it is, up at the top of a mountain
>>
It’s a great game. Played it many times. Weird how there’s two cheat mode items that just make you invincible just in different ways but whatever.
>>
>>720700172
Have fun anon it's a classic for a reason
>>
>>720700172
It's too hard!
>>
almost done with the 3rd dungeon, just got the master key for it
>>
>>720705957
The game has a lot of redundancy like that. Tons of stuff is functionally equivalent to something else, like the medallions.
>>
Ok I did it, all 3 pendants aquired, now to return to the old man.
Hopefully this game gets good soon
>>
i finally have the master sword
it's time to fuck that wizard up
>>
>>720707343
You just played through the consistently good part of the game; after this, you get a couple dungeons that are good while the rest of them are beyond terrible.
>>
>>720707343
>>720708629
also get ready to listen to the same 2 songs for hours

i killed that nigga and he sent me to a pyramid in the dark world
sheeeit
>>
>>720700909
Ok.
>>
>>720707237
I wonder what the original plan for the medallions were, since the only forces you to get two of them for a single trigger each..
>>
>>720710654
I think they're just crowd-clearing tools. When you're new to the game being able to fuck up an entire room is really nice, especially in the later dungeons. Sure, once you've beaten it a few times or are doing randomizers they're trinkets at best but in terms of baseline design giving the player something to do with their mana is enough.
>>
mm i just killed some scorpion thing and saved some girl in a crystal
also triforce was mentioned by the tree man
i kinda liked them calling it the gold power, it made it feel like some jewish dude was larping as the wizard
>>
also question, why is it called a link to the past when its really just going between worlds?
>>
>>720710965
because the real title is ゼルダの伝説 神々のトライフォース which means The Legend of Zelda The Triforce of the Gods. american title is made up by americans, back then they really liked changing the original names of japanese games
>>
>>720711054
man these fucking localizers deserve to suffer
one more thing, now that i have all the maiden locations on my map can i do them in any order or do i have to follow the numbered sequence?
i'll probably go to bed now and finish up the rest tomorrow =w=
>>
>>720711054
phew glad i grew up on the american name
>>
>>720710965
What was a missed opportunity was not calling OoT a link to the future.
>>
GBA Everdrive on a modded DS with R4 used for all games save Pokemon, which you go from Generation 4 onwards with a full Pokedex and Full IV/EV Trained team of Six Transfered Generationally Up to the next game to carry all the way to every subsequent generation and use in post-games.’
>>
>>720710965
the link to the past is link's bloodline of warriors

Least you get to have access to more games than OP with one of those, without a subscription required.
>>
>>720701806
Yeah, even when I set out not to use it, I end up using it because every classic game has those bullshitdl deaths.
And once the cherry is pop'ed I keep using it
