How do I stop taking so much damage every mission? I am poor.
are you bunny hopping?
>>720700887I don't know any advanced techniques and almost died to the tutorial
>>720701053A good way to dodge things is to tap the boost jump button, as you're strafing you can basically just hop around, doesn't use much energy and you'll get it back when you let go of the hop, but you gotta press the boost again like right before you hit the ground so you avoid the landing animation
>>720700851Play Project Phantasma.
the armored core discord oldgen channel has advice for people who want to learn these games, as long as you engage in good faith no one will complain.
It's not that big of a deal. By the halfway point you'll have enough money to have fully upgraded to your final build regardless of how well you play. Optimal play just gets you there somewhat faster, or gives you more money to play around with parts without having to sell anything, but it doesn't matter that much. This is assuming you're reloading on mission failure though. You're just setting yourself up for debt hell if you're trying to ironman your very first playthrough.Having two decent weapons and replacing your boosters/generator is like 90% of the upgrades you actually need and you can easily do that in the first quarter of the game regardless.
>>720701271Why?
>>720701271( . Y . )
>>720701510I found the weapon upgrades to be a massive trap, they use so much money in ammunition and the targeting radius is like 25% of the starting weapons which is a massive problem in a game where you can't aim worth a shit.
>>720701808Some weapons suck ass and others don't, you gotta trial and error it a bitenergy weapons are generally good because their ammo doesn't cost money
>>7207008516 is the only good game in the series
You're gonna take some, but you have to pair for every bullet, and therein lies the rub.Laser weapons don't cost anything but are more expensive and a bigger drain on your generator. Learn when to use the laser sword and save before every mission in case it goes poorly. Also protip, the spider legs can fire the back weapons without kneeling. Quad legs plus rear chain guns can take you far.
>>720701808It's mostly just either buying the upgraded replacement of the starter rifle because it's great in many of the games, or going for a beam weapon. The actual starter gun is typically dogshit and generally high priority to swap out. Then it's just a good missile or cannon and you've got a solid set that can handle whatever. It's fun to mess around with the weirder stuff but results will definitely vary.
>>720701965game meant for retards who have never touched a controller in their life and yet still demand the spectacle, game plays itself for you and is absolutely the most uninteresting and bland title in the series
>>720702230This but every game with dual analog.
>>720702159Shit like shotguns can fuck stuff up, it's one of those situations where some missions really lend themselves to certain weapons, something that's nice about ACMost anything will have its time to shine
>>720701873>energy weapons are generally good because their ammo doesn't cost moneyGood until you get a longer or enemy filled mission and then you're just fucked.
>>720702381uhh your last raven?
>>720700851Go in the system menu, rebind controls to your liking, and look up how to bunny hop
>>720702517>720701873en weapon optional parts + magazine back part exists in 1stgen do they not ?
>>720702805Not in the first game.
>>720702517Not all energy weapons have shit ammo, not all enemies are worth engaging, and yeah obviously there's no perfect one size fits all solution.Pretty much the only exceptions are things like bug mazes where you're probably gonna have to swap parts out anyway.
>>720701053its not that complicated after a slide do a jump you wont lose momentum and if you keep spamming it you can be fast without losing too much energy
>>720703857There are slides?
>>720701053Once you learn how to bunny hop and strafe properly all of the pre-nexus AC games are almost completely trivialized.
>>720702805 Nope, not in AC1. First gen is super barebones when it comes to optional parts, most of the QoL stuff like ammo packs and energy extensions didn't show up until Project Phantasma or MoA. You're pretty much stuck with your generator output and whatever efficiencies your core setup gives you. Gotta learn energy discipline the hard way.
>>720706457>Gotta learn energy discipline the hard wayBuy the best generator and never really worry about it again?
>>720702805Magazine back parts do. Don’t remember in AC1, but for sure MoA
Nine Ball! He’s the coolest!
Which ac game had you go the fastest
>>7207084724A
>>720707708>ENEMY AC IDENTIFIED AS...NINEBALL>Oh shit that was really hard, hes dead now so it's probably some turre->ENEMY AC IDENTIFIED AS...NINEBALL
>>720701053Basically feather the x button instead of holding it down while trying to dodge attacks. Eventually you'll get the rhythm down
