Is there any salvation for the Beat-Em-Up genre at this point?

It's in a revival. I guess I don't know what you mean

Absolum is really fun.

They need to speed up this revival.

Streets of Rage 4 seems like the spark and peak, then it was just pretenders releasing mid, forgettable games.
>>
it depends on what you consider a salvation.

the TMNT games are back, scott pilgrim just got a sequel (i think), double dragon is getting a 3d remaster soon, and power rangers just had one come out. theres also a relatively recent terminator one, and the mummy demastered was well received.

for something more relevant, they made a terrifier/art the blown beat'em up. it's still kind of a niche thing for sure, but nostalgia/retro shit is hot right now and a lot of companies are licensing out their IPs to have these beat'em ups made in order to cash in. there's bound to be some good ones.

pic related. i never said it was inspired or particularly nice to look at, but it's there.
