dream no more is what I would consider the actual ending of the base game, then nightmare grim and absolute radiance are postgame challenges for the insane

He specifically means only 20% of players have beaten The Hollow Knight as in the boss for the normal ending. Technically 22%, but that's hardly any better. Radiance is 18% and Nightmare King Grimm is 15%, so it seems like most people that get to and beat The Hollow Knight also do go on to beat Radiance.

I beat it yesterday and found it much easier than people hyped it up to be. Less annoying than the palace in any case.
I advise using both nail reach charms and preferably no hit pushback one.

The charm that makes your dash damage enemies helps a lot because it also extends the range and quickslash makes the prelude easy and in the phase with the platforms you can just stand under him and do a shit ton of damage on occasion.

To be fair it took me like 4 or 5 goes to actually force myself to finish HK. It always felt like a drag towards the end, then it'd be ages before I replayed, so I'd start again each time.

Did you beat Hornet in the first one? I think that's when the game starts becoming somewhat playable, and the wallgrab ability you get shortly after finally makes the game good. I'm glad I stuck with it back when I played it because some of the later bosses are pretty good, but the early game kind of puts me off ever replaying it. Silksong definitely feels good to play way earlier than the first one did.
